I'm pretty sure the doors open like normal and then the doors get pushed up. So if it was in the up/open position, you slam it down, you still need to pull it in to close the door. I hope that made some sense.

theres a crew in sydney that have 33 bolt on kits. and i mean bolt on. no cutting drilling welding nothing... the kit alone costs 3k and then install. its recommended that they do the install to ensure the hinge is correctly adjusted for door closing to be perfect. and at the same time there hinges are ADR Approved. they've had them tested and certified.

wouldnt mind getting them done to my 33 but 3k-3.5k is alot just for a pair of hinges.

hey cheez u got anymore info on this crew, im interested in hearing about this adr legal scissor door kit, as far as i can tell this would be the first legal one? unless anyone else knows of any adr approved kits?

yes... its still impractical, overly expensive and pointless

or what joey said... although i wouldnt say pointless, they do look cool when done right, and not necessarily impractical, the ones i mentioned can open either normally or vertically, so very useful when a wanker parks right on ur door

Very true, been stereotyped by movies like The Fast and The Furious "saga".

So i dont blame the negative image, but im keen so i dont care what anyone else thinks lol.

Open to opinions though, but wont take it into a mind changing account.

ohh yess scissor doors..... thats where me and u differ lol

id keep my car looking like a stocker and bolt a nasty big turbo on it with the money u will spend lol.

if u go ahead, make sure u post up pics of finished project m8.

coppers don't ask you to step out of the vehicle unless you're being arrested, searched or suspected of carrying weapons. in fact they make it a point to remind you to stay in the car.

that said, i do think lambo's on an R32 are rice beyond belief.

Funny, been pulled over twice for random license checks (gimme a break ;) ) and both times they asked me to get out and pop the bonnet.

Get off every time though, painted i/c piping black, cai box with snorkel modified to fit with piping, plumback ssqv b.o.v :P looks factory

softc0cks! I wanna see someone do a Delorean conversion ala back to the future! Now that WOULD be interesting to see, extra bonus points for figuring out how to do it with skyline doors as they don't have a frame around the window

I thought it was a defect if you have an aftermarket BOV installed even if its plumbed back? I thought the only legal way for BOV is if its stock and plumbed back?

hang it off the i/c piping under the reo... not gonna see it

Is that hard to do? What would i need for SSQ? That adapter plate im guessing, then what else? Damn never thought of that good idea lol.. I was gonna install a plumb back soon but really didnt want to have just the standard BOV because you couldnt really hear any sound when shifting.. Will look into this thanks :)

The only feedback i've heard from people with them is that you wouldn't want to be over 6 foot tall!

it's managable, but for tall people that its your every day driver or you're in and out all the time it can be pretty annoying - so i hear...?

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
