you said it has a factory compressor..and it sounds like a supercharger so it has to be a supercharged 4AGZE doesnt it?

either that or twin charged

what other engines on the list are factory super charged?

I haven't watched it but with the clues...

9000rpm rules out:

SR20

CA18

RB20

RB25

RB26

LS1

1JZ

2JZ

7MGTE

3SGTE

VG/VQ

VH45DE

4G63

That leaves

L28

4AGE/4AGZE

You already said no to 4age/ze

I guess L28

You also said "a" factory charger.

So I'm guessing L28 using a supercharger from a Toy Yoda

doesnt rule out any rb's

specially not a forged one.

rules out most of the others though.

9000rpm rules any motor if the idiot wants it to survive for any real length of time, especially if he is actually racing it on/off at track/drags. Doesnt matter how 'built' it is. A small capacity 4 would do it easier and have half a chance of surviving, something with a big bore and short stroke.

there was no mention of a forged engine.

therefore, rules out all RB's except maybe an RB20 for a duration of 3 seconds.

The only built engine mentioned was the 4G63 which he has said is not it.

L28's like to rev (but it doesn't sound like a 6)

3s and CA18 also like to rev.

that clip doesn't sound like a 6.

it's defo a 4.

SR20 doesn't sound like that at all.

4agze ruled out.

to make it all easy, I'm going to stick with one final guess.

CA18DEZ (supercharger from a 4agze or a 1g-gze)

Tell me I'm right you southside loving bogan!!

:P

This is my mates

Just a lil game i wanna make up. this is my mates S13 take a guess of the engine and charger if it is charged set up.

be the first to get both correct and tell me and ill shout u a drink at the next Tuesday night dinner. :P

Have fun.. no cheating now. discuss it if u wish but PM me with ur correct answer. first correct answer wins.. 1 entry per person.

cheers

mark.

S13 vid was taken on private land oh and it is reving to 9000rpm and has been built:)

Mods please leave this. its just a lil competition for the QLD members no harm and is car related :(...

it sounds like a 6 to me, sounded like my engine before i put an exhaust on it...and the fact that you can hear it die off up the rev range leads me to think it is a stock compressor. i have seen people run 20 to nine on the track, of course it wont last f**k all time if you keep revin it there....but it still does it atm.

Sounds like an Electrolux...

bahahahaha

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
