spotted a nice orange r33 driving along anzac avenue this morning near mcdonalds, Blonde chick driving and me and the male passenger shared a moment when our eyes met :P:P:P

very nice car

Hi. I'm Erin. I swear there is already a thread like this somewhere.

I drive a white R33 with mags and personalised plates :whoops:

I normaly smile and wave to anyone with a skyline but they normally don't wave back..

Maybe that's because I'm ugly or something :|

Hey Erin, I may have pulled you over near Greenslopes Hospital once...a few months ago...maybe? A white R33 Skyline and the chick driver said she run the club..Skylines Australia! The car was just like yours...mistaken identity perhaps..........Constable R34 Vspec

Today, heading in to the city on the riverside express way, prob about 3pmish?

V35 skyline SEDAN!!! Wooo! Id go one of them hey, dont care what you lot say.

But then tonite I saw a Bentley Continental Flying Spur... And my goodness, I sooooo want one of those. I know they probably arent on here. But mmm flying spur.

a white r34 gtt with a (in my mind a ugly looking spoiler) going up and down anzac avenue redcliffe, as well as a silver r34 4 door, who i then saw parked opposite hungry jacks, next to (i think) a red laurel, with most of the paint peeling off...

Saw a silver R32 GTSt heading north in the M1 about 5.30pm yesterday afternoon... gave him a wave but he might not have seen it as I think the pillar might have been in the way.

Also followed a black R33 sedan, lowered with stock rims, didn't get a wave but I kept spotting him nearly all the way into the city.

Oh yeah, I remember you. I said I *was* the event's co-ordinator for the skylines australia club when questioned why we had the CB in the car.

You were the good cop, the other one was the ars... :P bad cop.

Thanks for letting me go, my grandmother was waiting in the hospital! She had that operation, now she's having another next Tuesday. Don't try and hunt me down around the hospital though, I won't be there this time :(

For the record, I wasn't on my mobile phone. Just confused about where I had to go and how the hell I was going to get in the driveway in front of me.

    • If you take the top half of the intake off you can unbolt the flap off the shaft and leave the shaft in there blocking the hole. Then you can remove the little vacuum canister off from under the manifold and get a spare vacuum line to run to the ECU. I can take some photos of it later. Probably best to get the vacuum source to the ECU sorted first though. Mine all worked mint with the base map from the GTT an I've pretty much let the closed loop sort the fueling and took 1 degree out of the whole timing map.
    • This IS something you also have to configure in Haltech (or at least I did in the past when going from onboard-to-ECU map sensor and an external MAP sensor in haltech land).
    • I'm hoping it's something as simple as the ECU is looking for an external MAP sensor, but he is trying to use the onboard MAP sensor.
    • You won't need to do that if your happy to learn to tune it yourself. You 100% do not need to do that. It is not part of the learning process. It's not like driving on track and 'finding the limit by stepping over the limit'. You should not ever accidently blow up an engine and you should have setup the ECU's engine protection to save you from yourself while you are learning anyway. Plenty of us have tuned their own cars, myself included. We still come here for advice/guidance/new ideas etc.  What have you been doing so far to learn how to tune?
    • Put the ECU's MAP line in your mouth. Blow as hard as you can. You should be able to see about 10 kPa, maybe 15 kPa positive pressure. Suck on it. You should be able to generate a decent vacuum to about the same level also. Note that this is only ~2 psi either way. If the MAP is reading -5 psi all the time, ignition on, engine running or not, driving around or not, then it is severely f**ked. Also, you SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING IT WITHOUT A LOAD REFERENCE. You will break the engine. Badly.
