spotted a couple of r33's and an r34 along the esplanade at surfers yesterday arve. until then i thought the 'skyline wave' was just a myth!

it was the first time in years i had been on the esplanade at surfers and it was just as i remembered - full of bogans driving and checking out cars and generally trying to stare people down (haha it would make me angry if it wasn't so funny >_<). Me and my mate were having a coffee in broady and saw a few 'drive-by'ers' in pimped black merc's and an older supra with a gold front mount and the hilarity got to use and we said "f*ck yeah, let's do an esplanade cruise!"

saw a 'supra crew', a 'rich crew' (2005 M5, 350z etc), an 'early 90's/late 80's 3 series beewee crew', a 'baggy shorts, socks pulled up, hate 3/4 sideways minitruck and van crew', a 'wog crew' and of course - a little 'skyline crew'!

I honestly wasn't expecting it, but every skyline I saw the driver gave a wave! Seriously, in a culture full of tossers and dudes with small penis's, i felt pretty proud to be part of a crew that actually is friendly and cool about the fact that they just like their cars and can appreciate others who like the same car rather than trying to outdo and intimidate each other.

I was so high on the vibe i gave a few waves to everyone else i saw and just got a few tough guy looks, a few confused "holy shit, what do i do!? umm "Whatever dude" " looks, but sif I cared!

to anyone that waved to my standard looking white 33 with the old school volks on it (now), and the large but super quiet (and prolly hell restrictive) nismo exhaust - Peace!! You guys rock!!

I was probably the 34, if it was a white 4 door that you spotted...

Can't specifically remember your car though and if i waved, but at the very least i would've given the nod...

>_<

Not all us skyline drivers are bad... :(

51pry is my baby!

 I work over the road at mazda that is why you would have seen her there..

and RDY60 is Mark my bf's car >_<

:( That's just wierd... what's the chances of seeing both your cars on the same day... :)

spotted a fairly bright red R33 GTR with what looked to be 19 or 20" CE28's in white also sounded very mean this was on road between the beach and shopping centre on surfers paradise. I was wondering if this person is on SAU and if anyone has any photo's the car looked great.

Leech my man - you are a long way from home. A few hours North to Hervey Bay and you will have arrived at my new home. Canberra was getting too cold for these old bones.

Still own the store in Canberra and will be bouncing between the two locations for a while yet.

Hey Marc,

Yea bloody hell it's nice weather up here :P up on surfers paradise till Friday for Tech Ed. Staying in the Avalon apartments on the river not a bad joint although a bit of a hike to the convention centre. I will have to try and convince the missues to let me take us on a road trip to fraser island that way i can pop in and say hi :D

oooh your sneeky.. where were u sorry man if i didnt wave bk.. was in my own world..

You were in the very right hand lane as you always are, and I was in the left lane.. I swear the left lane isn't as quick as it used to be.. Usually I can get ahead of so many cars in the left lane and switch into the right hand lane just before the entry before Southbank.. Know what I mean?

:P That's just wierd... what's the chances of seeing both your cars on the same day... :)

haha i know i also found it quite funny....

Oh another note.. spotted will in his Golf leaving work on friday... :ermm:

AND spotted quite a few liners on Saturday morning up Cootha way... I was in Sim's 32 (FYN32)

And DAYYYYYM do Miss Niz's new wheels look HAWT!

    • I thought that might be the case, thats what I'll start saving for. Thanks for the info
    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
    • My return flow is custom and puts the return behind the reo, instead of at the bottom. All my core is in the air flow, rather than losing some of it up behind the reo. I realise that the core really acts more as a spiky heatsink than as a constant rate heat exchanger, and that therefore size is important.... but mine fits everything I needed and wanted without having to cut anything, and that's worth something too. And there won't be a hot patch of core up behind the reo after every hit, releasing heat back into the intake air.
    • There is a really fun solution to this problem, buy a Haltech (or ECU of your choice) and put the MAF in the bin.  I'm assuming your going to want more power in future, so you'll need to get the ECU at some stage. I'd put the new MAF money towards the new ECU.
