As above.

My car seems to be getting harder and harder each time i start my car in mornings. And also as soon i as the engine starts to run, it dies out, revs wont stay up.

Fuel economy seems pretty bad also.

And most times when i warm up my car, until the temp gauge needle starts to move, i go to accelerate and the cars seems to bog down.

So is it safe to use the fuel cleaning bottle for the meantime until i can get enough funds for new cleaned injectors?

r32's have a common problem with cold starts. Majority of us just blip the throttle as we start the car to stop it from stalling (i do)

r32's also feel like their lagging/bogging down during cold run's because they are running a rich fuel map to warm the engine up quickly. Hence why the car feels like its hesitating in the morning. Once the car warms up to operating temperature the laggyness/hesitation goes away.

I have used Nulon Fuel injector cleaner which did not cause any problems with my car.

Hope that helps

Hey Patrick,

Did the nulon bottle help in any way?

i had a simalar problem that turned out to be the cold start bypass valve. When your car is cold it opens and lets air bypass the tb therefore gives the engine slight revs to stop from stalling. It also is what kicks the revs up when you turn your aircon on so that maybe one way to test it!

Where is the cold start bypass valve?

that bypass valve your refering to is under the top half of the plenum, this units usually seize up and stop functioning after sometime either causing your car to idle extremely high or cause your car not to idle properly when its cold.

Usually taking out the AAC Valve and cleaning it with carby cleaner will do the trick, most mechanics just block this up and charge you like $100 to fix your high idle problems (fags).

^^^ No im not refering to the aac valve.

As i said the cold start bypass valve which is located next to the intake cam cover just ontop of your fuel rail nearest to the firewall.

It has a hose running to it from before the throttle body on one side and another from the intake manifold and has a small plug on it also.

My setup is all custom but from memory this is correct.

As said above it also wouldnt hurt to pull your aac valve off and give it a clean out there is a thread in diy which will help alot.

    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
