Just to let you all know (probably a little too late) On the 1st of December SAU VIC will be in Shepparton for our quarterly DECA event. Basically a fun motorkhana event, very similar to the Dutton Rally, that is partly done on a small track and mainly done on a HUGE skid pan. Some people from NSW usually come too, so it would be a great meet and greet. The event is then followed with some awesome night shenanigans

If you can't make this one, there is always another 4 next year. If you show interest i'm sure SAU VIC can help you with organizing entries to the event and accommodation.

ALL SPECTATORS WELCOME!! (free)

autosalon is poo, not worth the driver over to be honest

the best time to come would be when do our motorkhana days down at shepparton

not sure how much further it would be for you guys (or closer) but definetly worth it

and theyre a big weekend too - the nsw guys have came twice now to join in

the next deca is dec 01 so 2 weeks from now

well if sau members want to come but cant due to car probs or something like that we that are going could take some ppl then the cost is halfed for petrol and in saying that i would be up for that, god im full of ideas must be that johnny i had lol

yeah i have always made it in around 8hrs with 3 pit stops but i think that i sould be in the new year as christmas is only around the corner and my son has picked a list longer than my arm of stuff he wants "santa" to bring him eg playstation 3, tv ect olo and he's only 5 god im in trouble but yeah 2wks is to soon

Timing it with the Show'n'Shine would be a brilliant idea... although it does not leave time for much planning being its 3 or so weeks away

Maybe if you plan it for sometime after the new year?

We have out Annual GOR cruise mid march (or there abouts)

So you would maybe come the scenic route and meet us along the way?

Just another idea.

Feel free to PM me (and ill give you my email as its easier/faster off forum for planning stuff).

I'll help out organising a cruise around some Melb areas for your time here.

Ideally you'd want to plan for a week here arriving say a Fri/Sat, till the following Sunday for your drive home.

That way we could fit in two decent cruises and cover some good areas of Vic.

Cheers

Ash

yeah the new year sounds good and thanks i would need some help cause we are coming to you so thanks if we get there friday afternoon cause i normaly leave sa around 6am we all us sa guys could have a dinner then a cruise with all you guys then saturday night have another one then leave sunday afternoon to get home around 10pm

if u want to do Autosalon in melb, should wait and find out whether it will be round 1 or round 2 , as i have noticed they swap it around between melbourne and sydney.

maybe that way we could do a SAU-SA display perhaps? just a thought.

i wouldnt mind going over the melb, havent been there in a while and would like to take the 34 for a very long run, and go see the guy i got her from too while im there

you forgot these Bunny: ..................................,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

But yeah, go there for the motorkhanas... they are a shit load of fun, and we always have a blast :) can't wait for the next one!

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
