Hey all, long time since i've posted! hope all the aussie stags (and others) are travelling well out there. On my way around the globe at the moment and will be dropping into Japan in Feb. Whilst there i'm planning to stock up on some aftermarket tidbits (turbo, intercooler, leather interior etc.) and have been trying to work out the best way to get them back. Obviously i'm planning to ship, but as yet don't know which shipping company to contact. So far i have contacted both Prestige Motorsport and Slidewize Imports on the matter, but so far they haven't let me know the name of a shipping company to ship the gear back to Adelaide.

does anyone know of a shipping company, or have any suggestions? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Harts.

You could try contacting Kiwi Car carriers, they might do it. It would have to be well packed though (I imagine).

Talk to them first. Nearly everyone bringing in cars uses them now.

It would definitely be the cheapest..... quarantine could be your biggest hassel.

Cheers appealing, i have sent them an email, just waiting for a reply now!

talk to any of the following:

Japco Wholesalers

+61 8 8347 3599

Adelaide Japanese Dismantlers

+61 8 8369 1156

http://www.adelaidejap.com.au

and

D1 Garage

http://www.d1garage.com

They all bring in containers regularly to adelaide from Japan, and if you're nice to them and share part of the cost I'm sure they'll be willing to offer you some space in their next shipment.

Your best bet is having one of the companies who brings in parts regularly ship it for you, or ship using a partially full container load, where you rent space in a container with others like you, and together you make up a full container load. Kiwi specialise in roll on roll off and fully packed containers, so might not be of much help.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
