Spunky Munky
Hey fellas, Was wondering, how much would pumping of the back guards cost? Not wanting my R33 GTS-T to look like a GT-R, but just like the look as it looks really nice... Also, pics of non-GTR's with the above done would also be nice. Thanks. That's it mate... the lady at jetspeed that normally says "it'll set you back at ..." is not very helpful at all. But the thing is, I want it done properly... don't know how this can be done. Obviously, they'll have to remove your quarter panel so it will no doubt be a big job! ~Hypnotik~
I'm sure Primal Garage would be able to help you out. They're just around the corner from Dr Drift's workshop. ~Hypnotik~
^^^ Yes, their work is very good!! They specialize in this type of work on these sort of cars too (Silvia's, Skylines, etc). If I were to get any guard work (which won't be too far down the track) this is the only place i'd go to! From what I know and after contacting Primal panels - they put on fibreglass flares... then repaint the whole quater-panel. It should be very nice and unnoticable. funkymonkey
or you could just put on GTR panels like everyone else does. GTR rear quarters are joined at the c-pillar to the roof etc, putting new metal quarters on a GTSt is kinda hard. Do you have any pictures of what a GTST would look like with GTR pumped/flared guards?? Does it look nice or shonky? Eug
GTR rear quarters are joined at the c-pillar to the roof etc, putting new metal quarters on a GTSt is kinda hard. oops, thought we were talking about the front guards. although, there is a guy around these parts driving around with genuine rear GTR guards on his GTSt. had it cut at the c-pillar too, big job. GTSt rear quarters are joined at the c-pillar too, seen a fresh one from nissan at the workshop before. trism
would be a big job to transplant genuine gtr guards onto a gtst... but if the car was being resprayed it wouldnt matter too much.... candy33
Ive done it to my car.. as mentioned in another thread, costs around $3000, very big job. I had the GTR fibreglass add-ons guards before, and over time they start to crack, and the paint finish will nowhere near be as good as a metal GTR guard. I was thinking of going fibreglass for now due to cost... I know it's a quick fix... would it last 2-3 years... not expecting something top-notch... any advice? SKYRYAN
Advice... sell the gts-t and import a gtr if you want the fat guards. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/195278-pumping-of-guards/#findComment-3509811 Share on other sites
