This engine will be removed from my R32 GTR around the 10th Dec. So you can here it running, have a look at the oil pressure and the overall general condition before that date. I will be carrying out a compression test before it's removed.

Since importing the car in April 2005 I have done around 10,000kms on the engine. Unsure on the exact amount of km's but general condition the engine and paint starting to flake off the plenum would suggest around 100,000.

The GT-SS turbo kit was installed in July last year and has approximately 5,000kms on it. An Exedy 9 Puk extra heavy duty clutch was fitted around May 2005.

The engine comes complete minus the following parts:-

Injectors + Rail + Regulator

Dumps

Wiring Harness

The alternator, power steering pump and aircon compressor are not included.

The cam belt was replaced prior to the vehicle leaving Japan (the speedo read 3,500kms, now reads 19,100 ish).

With a fairly safe tune the car made 404 rwhp on 19psi using a D-Jetro computer (not included in sale but can supply the map).

Please no low ball offers (they will be ignored) and I am not interested in swaps or breaking it up at this stage.

Freight can be arranged country wide. My suggestion is Air Road Direct. I paid roughly $300 to get an RB26 freighted from Brisbane to Perth.

In Johns defence - not strange at all to want to Just swap engines, even if there is nothing apperntly wrong with the one you are taking out (especially if you are going the next step up in power). It means you can minimise the time your car is off the road. Having an eninge ready to go in can mean having your car off the road for just days, rather than weeks (or months) if you are to take everything out - have it all stripped, measured and machined and then chase the parts you need to build your "tough" RB26.... (or RB28 for that matter)

sorry... just my 2c :nyaanyaa: (going through a similar transition myself...)

So the reason for the new RB26DETT?

Strange to just "Swap engines"

Have you had the compression check done yet?

New engine is an HKS 2.8 with everything done and then some. I didn't want the car off the road for an extended period so I bought a 26 that had spun a bearing and got that one rebuilt.

Compression test will be for peace of mind of the buyer and I didn't want to sell someone a dud. Haven't got the guage yet but will post up results when I do.

Thanks

Thanks Jonn

PM me with the results, as I'm interested in the engine.

Can you also find out how much shipping would be to move the motor from Perth to Sydney (Specific post code is 2518)

Thanks

    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
