Hi all,

Thought I'd post up some pics of my Aristo which is waiting on the docks in Japan at the moment...

I need a 4 door and looking at what's available locally in the same price range made me cringe. I was considering 4 door 33 but I've sort of been there with the 2 door we've got. Here's some stock specs for those that are new to these cars - correct me if I'm wrong:

front strut brace

same brakes as supra

8 way electric seats

8 speaker stereo system including 2 subwoofers and 6 cd stacker

they make about 180 rwkw stock

all Aristo V have the legendary 2jz 3 litre twin turbo supra engine

Some options mine has:

Sunroof

Abs and cruise control - you can tell ABS by the horizontal indented line on the steering wheel

All cars with ABS have cruise control

She's got a logbooked 69000 k's on it and was a grade 4.5 but they found a noise coming form the brake master cylinder so downgraded to 4. The japs generaly look after the aristos unlike skylines silvias etc but don't get me wrong - we looked at a lot before bidding on this one - it took two weeks for us to find it!

It's the first car I've bought without sitting in it so I'm excited to say the least.

Here's a link to a Aristo article.

Cheers fellas - not happy about these bitmap pics - for some reason a heap of my jpeg pics have been changed to bitmap.

Plans? Not many at the moment - it'll need some nice wheels to fill the arches, dark tint the windows and make sure the AC works really well! They've got big potential but I've got the 260rwkw '33 for those games - we want something easy to drive - put on the cruise control and enjoy the smoothness for now!

Hi Mate,

Im really interested in getting this model for a family car. I went and looked at one at a car dealers and I really like the size of it too.

What year model is it? Im guessing 95-96.

And if you dont mind me asking, how much all up has it cost you. pm me if you like.

Its a nice example of an aristo, congrats.

Cheers

Hi fellas,

Purchase price for these as long as you don't go too silly isn't the expense - it's shipping, compliance and rego. It's a 95 model - J-spec have been great so far although I haven't seen the car in the flesh yet! I found it was great having experts at the auction yard - if you bid on a car but leave a comment saying don't get this car if it isn't immaculate or whatever the guys will check it out and if anything's sus no go.

And there are a lot of sus cars - if you bid without getting it checked it would be totally luck of the draw. There were cars smoking with auction grade four - one even had a leaking heater! They don't seem to take into account for mechanical problems in the gradings.

As for interiors all the white ones have a tan interior - leather or cloth. I've seen blue and grey but that's it - not sure if black models come out with black interiors?

Have a look on j specs website for pricing - the ones in the lower range are what I am looking at dollar wise but I won't know exactly what it's cost until I'm driving it!

Cheers

saw a grade 4 car the other day that was full of rust ! definetly do not buy unseen at auctions!

180rwkw seems like a bit of stretch for the aristo . they are much slower than a auto TT supra , have softer cams and ecu mapping and an increadibly restrictive tiny stock exhaust . it probably pulls it on the dyno but it feels much slower

but if you want a smooth cruiser you have picked well!

The jdm supra 2jz is the same as the aristo except for the sump, engine fan configuration and the auto has a slightly different overdrive ratio as the aristo comes with the a341e and the supra with the a340e. The cams are the same as all other jdm 2jz's its only the Americans that got better breathing cams. 180rwkw is the norm as it was with my stock tt aristo though it does feel slower than the supra as it is 200kg heavier and is less agile.

Nice choice, i had one for a while and it was an excellent cruiser with every possible nic nac you could want in a car.

Hi there,

For standard 0-100 times (6.02 sec) and standard 0-400 metre times (14.37 sec) check this link to an aristo review.

For power output in RWKW check here there's a lot of guys pulling around the 180 rwkw figures dead stock

From talking with owners it seems they feel slower than they are as they are so quiet and put out little fuss. 14's? put it into drive and get off the line nicely! Once you're moving along apparently they go just as well as the supras especially at overtaking speeds.

Cheers

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
