it's fake

it uses an old scam where you respond through the clasified email - they respond with this:

Hello and sorry for the delay,

First of all I want to thank you for the interest that you have shown for my car. The 1999 NISSAN SKYLINE R34 25GT-T is in excellent condition and was not involved in any car accidents and it has always been garaged . The car is registered , has a CLEAR and CLEAN TITLE and you will not have any problems to register the car in your name. If you are interested in buying it, the price i am looking for is $8500 AUD. I know that this is a low price for such a good car, but I need to pay some debts at the bank and I decided to sell my car. I hope that you will agree with my price and there will not be any argues regarding my price. I would like to complete this transaction asap, cause I need to pay the debts at the bank and I don't have so much time at my disposal. If you have any other questions, please reply me.

The car has 52000 Km ,reg number 828KKQ ,expires in FEB 2008 comes with rwc.

Julia Adams

then u respond - then they respond with this:

Hello and sorry again for the late response

Thank you for your reply. At this moment I'm in London, UK, where I am looking to buy a house because I will leave Australia to UK definitely.. I have already sold my house and I need to come back in Australia to give the house and the papers of the house to the buyer , and I need to sell the car until then . But I have told to the buyer of the house that I will not come back in Australia, until I have a serious buyer for the car. I had some discussions with BidPay.com and they told me that they can help me and you to finalize this transaction fast and safe. If you are interested to have more details from BidPay about how we can finalize this transaction, please send me full name and address so BidPay can run a backround report about your identity . Please reply me and give me the details that I asked.

VIN: 6U90000ER34023348

Rego: 828KKQ until Feb 2008

then u respond - then i wait because they haven't responded yet.. i want to see how far i can take them.. although the same scam has been happening on ebay / carpoint / carsales / etc - this particular one i got from carpoint - but i'm sure a lot of people have seen the GTR for $9k on carsales..

:nyaanyaa:

hey how does ur legnum go mate.

the 2.5L V6 TT any good.? trying to get my mate to upgrade from his VR4 galant to one as leather sunroof wagon is more practical. hes getting married soon i think

its fantastic.... engine has heaps of torque, turbo's can take up to about 16psi (mine are currently on 12psi), the AYC grips like crazy, and the factory recaro's make it a very comfortable, quick cruiser.

all i've done is fit a set of coilovers, and uped the boost to 12psi, and it should run 13's.

"Arhh the old banana in the telephone trick" 86 says

Yeah ive heard of this happening before, was told about a CLS55 AMG with 40,000kms on the clock going for 50k...

Looked into it to find out it was a scam, but as they say anything that sounds too good to be true usually is :(

On the coast there is a yellow GTR 34 with 60,000km on it for $60,000 2001. Very nice car even took it for a drive, should sell very quick. I have pics aswell.

Im not sure what this post is in reference too, but if you suggesting thats cheap then you should have a look at the auction websites in Japan.

R34 GTR's are going from 35k now FOB pre-compliance, pre-ship... So add less than 10k for the rest and you got an R34 GTR... :P

There are also 2 x R34 GTR's for sale here on the forum for less than 50k...

man, ive been eyeing off the legnum that was for sale in marooka for a while

hottest wagon evar (yes, even hawter than a stagea)

its sold i guess, coz it cruised past me the other day, sweet looking vehicle

I just found out a chick from our work (different office - she's from our NSW office) got scammed on a 2006 WRX that was advertised for about $9,000 in Darwin. Pretty much same scam as discussed here. Silly girl.

Nothing to do with this thread but all this talk about the Legnum..

I've been looking at them recently but can't see any Manual ones.

Mitchy - is your the tiptronic one?

they are still 5 speed auto/tiptronic aren't they?

does it feel like a slushomatic?

they weigh around the 1500kg right?

how tight is the engine bay? 300zx tight?

how easy would it be to replace turbos or the rear 3 spark plugs for example?

    • Sounds like you've got an interesting adventure ahead here with local support if you have trouble! My guess is that, unboosted, you will be OK with a small upgrade like -9. What will happen is that once the stock ECU sees more airflow than it expects it will add a heap of fuel and pull a heap of timing to be safe because it can't understand how it could get that much air without there being an issue. You will see clouds of black smoke and it won't pull hard through the midrange and top end. So, overall it will be a bit frustrating but should be OK. If you are still nervous set the base timing back 2o through the CAS, but it will be even more sluggish everywhere. As said above through...this is not my guarantee your engine won't be blown into a million pieces, leaving you looking for very hard to find parts A better idea is get a computer with logging ASAP, wire in a wide band O2 sensor and a use remote tuner. I've done multiple cars this way and while it is not as good as a specific tune on a dyno they can get it 90% right. I'd suggest if you can afford an R33 GTR these days you can afford an ECU and tune. And if you can't afford that you sure won't be able to afford the rebuild if it goes bad in the meantime,.
    • Yeah it would be nice if someone took the time to put that sort of information together, but there are a lot of variations in looms. I think you are making this way hard for yourself if you just want to get it running....sourcing an SR20 with the right wiring will be a billion times easier than matching the RB loom to an S15 chassis. If you do end up going this way, you just need to trace every wire in the loom with a multimeter, 95% of them will go to a location you can confirm at the ECU.....and then post it up for the next person who needs it
    • Just top it up with water, and keep a general idea of how much you added. It is normal for water to be pushed into and pulled out of the reservoir through the cap, and it should not be more than half full or it will be likely to overflow when hot. Any decent mechanic can do a pressure test of the cooling system to confirm if you have a leak. Keep in mind if it is only leaking a little and when hot it may well evaporate before you see it hit the ground
    • I'd ask the shop what they used and use that. Mixing coolants is sometimes OK, sometimes not, and you have know the details of each coolant to know whether it's a good idea or not.
    • Is it alright to top up with just another green coolant?
