stock bov forever!

...

after an expensive lesson (thankyou so much officer - fag) with my atmo bov. the sound sure is nice but aint worth the fine for having one. you drive a skyline. people do not need to hear you because they will always see you a mile away :P its like they have a spider sense for skylines!

I'll bite...short answer...they have larger flow paths and are less likely to leak...they are also interchangeable but you need a larger plumback pipe...

But if you had searched you would have found your answer...

Why are GTR BOV's less likely to leak?

Larger flow path is good for big boost i guess. Anyone know at what power/boost it's good to bin the gtst BOV for a GTR one?

Oh yeah i did search dude. It brought me here :whistling:

Hey fellas,

As most of us know, R33's stall as hell when there's a atmospheric installed - it plays with the airflow meter, mixtures and ecu settings etc which caused really bad stalling issues... I've put back my stock BOV, but I miss the nice pod-suction sound heaps and also the Sshhhhttt sound - driving a turbo without this sound really is a bit of a let-down.

I've heard though, if I get a BOV which has 2 sides - one that plumbs back and the other that vents out - I'll still satisfy the requirements of the car and will also get the nice blow-off sound.

Which ones would do the above - any suggestions, fellas?

Thanks in advance.

just get a good air filter and youll get all the noise. ive got stock BOV with just blitz air filter and i get plenti of noise check my video if u want 2 see

Yep I noticed that too when I installed my Power FC

Must be something to do with the tune - I'm all for the standard BOV but am using a SSQ at the moment for other reasons but will be going back to a standard BOV soon

I get no stalling or backfiring at all with the SSQ and Power FC

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
