Well, for what must be about the most maligned Rb engine out there, it does ok. I mean over the standing half mile (where the rwd launch hurts vs AWD) , a Z-Tune on RE55s ran a 17.29sec, my little RB20 did ok to run a 17.98 at Shepparton Airport. A worked 996 Turbo did a 16.32...so its not just a peaky power figure either. For a 2L they can make a good spread of power and the dougy bottom end can be masked as its in a relatively light platform. No way you woudl want to be pulling any more then 1270kgs with only 2L.

There was a blue coloured R32 with stroked RB20 (RB24) that

I have seen for sale in Japan (built for dragracing) that produced

around 550ps.

Here's what looks like another stroked RB20 in a 180sx with a huge

T51R turbo and 600ps. Again the dyno's computer (laptop) has the dyno

chart -

Also there's a white R32 GTS-T with series 2 front bumper

(Australia) that produced around I think was roughly

319rwkw? with stock motor and roughly 358rwkw? with a

strengthened motor, cams, etc at a dyno competition. It

had RB25 gearbox, etc.

Here's another RB20DET in a S14 that produced around

335rwkw (449.8rwhp) -

I'm not 100% sure but I think that S14 dyno run was done

in Australia.

I wonder what a custom twin turbo setup would be like....maybe slap a couple of R34 N1s on running 24psi or something....im getting 322awkw with R34 N1s on 20psi in my GTR, I know the rb26 is probably a fair bit more advanced in terms of head flow and setup to achieve that easily but surely with only .6 of a litre capacity less you could still see some pretty good power figures with good spool time instead of a big single child eating turbo.

What does everyone else think?

Cheers!

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
