^^^ exactly....

you know, i think i know where it come from.

the "stealth" wing as you call it resembles the stereo typical ducks tail. how it bobs up at the end.

duck.gif

hence D-tail or D-Wing. they were common on old style muscle cars ie early corvettes, old mustangs, etc.

so all the ricers these days see "D-wing" and because anything these days that has a capitial D means drift (initial D, D1, etc etc) they see it as drift wing.

there, thats how

;)

Wow perfect explanation

My apologies to everyone about the miss use of the term "drift-wing", specially to DRD-00F. ;)

Well everything was invented in Japan so actually to be correct it is called a chibi hane

http://search1.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/sea...ccat=2084197400

Chibi of course means small, and hane means wing...

So the correct name for it is "small wing"... LOL

Unless you think everything was invented in Germany where the wing on the 911 is called a bürzel which means ducktail.

The fact things are called Drift-XXXX is purely marketing, just as previously everything used to be called Drag-XXXX, pretty soon everything will be called GT-XXXX and after that something else will come along.

As far as I'm aware all the different names "drift wing" "stealth wing" etc., were started by bodykit retailers here in Australia to sell the wing and make themselves different from what every other retailer was calling it. I believe Signal Auto in Japan were the first ones to make the wing, and therefore whatever they have chosen to call it should be correct.

i shall commence with examples

1. ford GT40. first year of production, 1963

gt40.jpg

2. Chev Camaro. production date late 60s

aloha68camaro-01-02.jpg

3. Pontiac GTO production in late 60s early 70s

72gtoducktail.jpg

4. Ferrari 330 testa rossa. production 1962

1962%20Ferrari%20330%20TRI-LM__03.jpg

now, i think youll agree that all of these predate the current obsession with "drift"

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
