Hi guys,

Sorry I'm not too savvy with electrics but can I confirm that in an R34 GTT:

a) "parkers" are the lights on the outer most side of the headlamps? From outside to inside: parkers > low beam > high beam?

b) The parkers bulb is a T10?

c) If you have HID installed for the low beam(H1), do you need another set of kit with additional ballast for the parkers or do you just need the extra HID bulbs and plug it into the existing low beam ballast?

Would greatly appreciate any advice on this!!

Cheers. :)

Could I suggest including wattage information?

I can confirm that an R33 GTST takes 55 watt H1's in the headlights.

I suspect that going higher *might* do some damage to the plastic lenses? The Philips globes I bought (55w Crystalvision 4300K) said something about being UV coated so that they're safe to use with plastic headlights.

The s2 foglights also use 55w globes, in H3. I was *almost* about to buy some "JAG" branded 100w H3's, but i'll probably play the safety card and try to find 55w globes instead. The foglight assembly is metal, and the lens is glass, so it probably would take 100w anyway.

Will post this up cos its not all that easy to find -

R34 GTT Tail light bulbs -

Outside (larger) tail lights - 1 x T20 Dual filament bulb. Wedge type (if you dont get the dual filament, it will only light up when brakes are applied, not when headlights are on)

Inside (smaller) tail lights - 2 x T10 wedge type

Hey guys my headlight just went and I was thinking of getting some 100w h1 bulbs to replace both headlights I don't really care about high beam as the 100w will be enought for all kinds of driving I just wanted to know if it will stuff up my headlight like the plastic and how clear they are

anyone know what the globe is called.

The one on the roof at the front (near the sunroof buttons), im missing the globe but the power of the globe is 12v 10w is it states.

what kind goes in there? :/

tiny screw in?

wait so r33's take 4 globes aswell as the 2 parkers? 2 low beam and 2 high beam?

(im use to commodores with H4 globes)

Yes this is right, they use 2 seperate lights, 1 for each. Alot of commodores use 2 bulbs the only difference is that they use a H4 which does low and high beam then they have another bulb just for high beam.

Park lights are the same deal, Usually Wedge (T10) bulbs in alot of different cars

Use this to work out which one it is. I replaced mine with LED's (can buy them from supercheap) that have 4,6,8 etc LED's and then have attatchments that plug/screw into your existing socket

    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
    • Final update!!! Got the front bar fitted and sprayed and all sorted now. My cutouts worked great and the indicators aren’t just falling off. 😂
    • Is this a brand new LSD? if so, have you followed any break/bed in procedure for it? Usually involves heaps of figure 8 patterns, a fluid flush.
    • It's TWO steering wheels actually. 😛 one for each hand They are wheels, and they steer!
