Runnin a 3" Titanium Cat back w/straight pipe, easy fix for the droning is called volume on the stereo. I know I gained power from putting this exhaust on but I also have a pod filter and MSD Sport Compact Ignition box with Blaster coil, Iridium plugs and always keep cap and rotor fresh and also 8.5mm Super conductor wires. Car comes out Faster since the cat back was added. Oh yes it is loud as F*** But sounds so sweet.

would u happen to have a vid of it by any chance???

i always get confused was a catback exhaust just straight from the cat only????

and if so wouldnt it be louder to just have 3 inch the whole way?

Hey All.

Looking to see who has the nicest sounding NA r31,32,33,34

Heres mine,

Vid 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nh-14jWBaUo and no its not a turbo.

Vid 3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITsrR9MErWU nice hummmm

this is what mine sounded like with just coby extractors, i dunno if all of u will be able to watch it u might need to be joined up to myspace http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...ideoID=25846172 had to drive it the exhaust shop like that, was pretty funny some of the looks i got

twogood, yours sounds awsome, especially before you rev it i love that skyline sound, was that done in the winter or summer, i noticed mine makes that sound more when the weather is cold, then in summer, the first sound it makes when u first start it.

Here are some vids of mine:

Fly by: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzgwVH4w2dk

Bit of a rev: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRDVFAh0F24

Bit more of a rev (hitting the limiter): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aV2VvaVtOus with my mates r31 and r34 (mines the loud 1 in the middle and first one to hit the limiter)

I like it because at low revs it sounds more low and quiet then at high revs it really screams, apparently it screams so hard when people are behind me and I'm giving it some hehe.

don't really have sound clips, but I've got a video of me goofing around with my old GTS on a motorkhana day.

that sounds awsome mate

sounds like its got no cat?

Yip, they don't make us run cats in NZ yet.

Both cars have the same mods, extractors/exhaust/custom induction system now, only thing is one produces 23 more rwkw!

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
