It's not suspension but my mate bought some speakers from autobahn for his 04 WRX and he told the chick what speakers he needed but she assured him that he needed different ones. They were top of the line Alpine's i think and when he got em home, guess what, they didn't fit! He took em back and explained that she was wrong and stuff and then she was like "Oh, you meant for a 04 WRX, I thought you said a 98 WRX". THICK AS! The ones he needed were a different price and he refused to pay that price because she stuffed up, the ones he needed weren't on special like the other ones. She was like but I'll get in trouble with my manager and my mate was like well you should have done your job right the first time and we wouldn't have had this problem, DUH! So, he ended up getting top of the range Alpine speakers that were meant to be close to $300 for under $100, haha suckers! Good luck with your suspension though mate, hopefully you know not to use them next time.

hahahaha autobarn SA dont sell alpine... only cartoys and tonkins do.

+1 ring Ryan i run ISC coils and am very happy with the product and Ryans service is second to none

ISC are just cheap crap like K-sport D2 etc for a few measly dollars more you could do so much better... like bilstein, greddy type-S (with come with free electronic damper control now), or tein.

just out of interest (i no longer work for autobarn HO anymore) but which store did you have issues with? PM Me if you like.

correct they dont sell alpine... :)

why would they want to? every one in the trade knows it is pushed to buyers only to make the most money (it has the highest mark up of all audio brands) how does this benefit the customer? ;)

everyone is quick to bag autobarn, i happen to manage one of there stores, boys down where we are no there stuff. they don't just specialise in 'skylines' , we have to deal with every type of car on the market, hence we don't no every minor detail concerning skylines or what not. there's no real listings for parts on most import which makes some things difficult to find! your focus should be on the suppliers of parts to autobarn as they don't supply adequate information.

this does exclude the majority of some autobarns and there workers as i myself have had useless help from some, but just an opinion from the other side!

I do actually go to the Autobarn down Noarlunga a bit myself & a few of the guys down there know their stuff, just a matter of who you get. As Psyko says it is a general automotive store so it can be a bit hard to remember everything for every car. There will always be people stuff up no matter where u go.

I've generally had better experiences with them than say places like Sprint, or Repco etc. which are their main competition.

Having said that I've never bought any major performance parts from them purely because they're generally a bit pricey for that gear.

i have never had a problem with autobarn.....i got my intercooler from there and they were late by a week so i gave them the hurry up as the hot weather was apporaching and i got a VSPL for the price of their M spec coolers...

yeah the M specs are bar and plate and go for $600-700 and the VSPL go for about $1200 so i aint complaining and it was the Gillies plains one

+1 for Gilles Plains store bought my cooler from there and was impressed with both service and price.Used to travel to Mile End before Gilles opened.Plus they got all the good oils etc when the 5k service comes around.

    • Yeah I've had too many issues with knock off's on the BMW's. I don't want to do a job twice or more because the parts are shit.
    • I read this and thought "ah! I will do this scissor jack on the tow point thing!" I just use my floor/low profile/costco jack and lift the car up by the tow hook itself, then slide jack stands under. Never thought about using scissor into floor jack combo :p
    • Well, my new WMI system took much longer to finalize. I actually missed my dyno appointment last Friday and lost my 150$ deposit. I'll be going back in the next week or two.  To sum it up. I only kept the AEM tank from my old setup. I replaced the AEM pump with a higher flow/pressure ProMeth 30GPH pump. I also swapped over to a 6AN low pressure feed line to the pump from the tank. There's also a pressure switch you cannot see on the pump high pressure line.    This is feeding 6x 200CC direct port nozzles and 1x 500CC Pre Throttle body nozzle. All fittings are Swagelok, because well why not. I also have a 300PSI pressure sensor up front.    I now have my Haltech ECU controlling everything. I start my pump with a basic relay at 5PSI and deadhead it. I then PWM a 3000CC methanol Injector to control flow starting around 10psi. The pressure switch in the trunk, along with my tank level are safeties before I ever get to 10PSI, and then I use my pressure sensor upfront as a secondary safety to cut the WMI and corrections in case the injector blocks or a line ruptures.  Wish me luck on the dyno!
    • So, I'm back with bad news. There's no jack long enough on this planet that will reach the front subframe. If by some chance there is, it would weigh 200lb's.  I purchased a long reach jack... The damn thing weighted 120lb's and was massive. Didn't even come close, was still short at least a foot. It was a pain, but I brought it back. Next I decided HA! No problem, I'll get an Extra long reach jack. Well, I couldn't lift the box... It must have weighed 160LB's and luckily there was an open box in store. I took measurement and was still nowhere close.  Sadly I've lost hope and have accepted defeat.
    • Thanks for that tip, niZmO_Man. I think the battery is OK. It's quite a new one, but I'll check. Last time I needed a new battery, everything electronic was fine, except that there wasn't enough current to turn over the starter. I decided to order one of the partial AV system translation CDs from Car Audio Workshop in NZ. That might have some effect, or help me diagnose the date problem. 🤞
