i know its been covered, but every scenario is slightly different:

r33 gtst

management : pfc - no hand controller

parts going on:

nismo 555cc injectors

nismo in tank fuel pump

Z32 afm

splitfire coils

HKS 2835 pro s

sorry mate, but you cant.

The car won't start.

You need a hand controller to set the 555cc injectors, and the Z32 afm.

All other mods are ok and won't have any affect when you limp your car to the shop.

Can you borrow a hand controller from somewhere? like a mate? f**k if I knew you I'd send you mine to borrow.

the car wont start with the injectors tho will it....

might have to just be a tow jobby

thanx guys

case closed! bailiff please excuse the jury

For all the money you have spent already, and the small amount you are trying to save, its just not worth it. Say it runs super rich and stuffs your plugs. Theres a minium $20 to fix that. Just get the tow, dont be tight.

[edit] if you are with RAC/Q/V/T etc use them, you will get a certain distance free. Just say it wont start

Its a plug'n'play - as a factory replacement, thats what the term plug-n-play means.

You can rip out the old ECU, stick the new one in, and it works.

Now if you change half a dozen parts then your no longer just pulling out/replacing a ECU.

No ECU simply 'works' by plugging it in. There is no way it knows what AFMs, Injectors etc are being used.

Yeah, i was really after the easiest option, not the cheapest. After blowing 20k on the car in the last 6 months i'm not really looking to save 50 bucks

either that, or get a mate with a 4x4 or something decent to tow you there via rope. THat is legal isn't it?

How far away is the tuning shop?

In vic that isnt legal, must be on a tow truck or trailer.

ill informed once again..ha thanks ash

i thought i could save money on installation costs for a pfc tune. i was quoted $500-$600 for an install and tune. i had been told tuning is $150 per hr and it would take on average 2 hrs to tune so if i could save $200-$300 just for installation all the better.

sorry for the hi-jack if any.

flat tow is the cheapest option, just be carefull with the tow rope and your front bar...or you could just take the front bar off? is that still legal?

I actually rang up vic roads about 12 months ago and was told the flat towing was illegal, after R31Nismoid post i checked the vic roads web site and it says it is legal....

I've done it many times years ago when i have a ZJ Fairlane, i was the "tow car of choice" for the boys cause it was a V8 etc.

Altough, it cant be done @ night, or with a car that doesnt have working hazards/brakes and so on from what i was told by the law.

But then they can also be wrong too

Installation of a PFC takes 30 seconds... or were you talking about other parts also?

You should be right taking the front bar off to flat tow as its the rear of the car (hazards, brake lights and so on) that need to be working.

Having said that, it might be illegal, but even a nasty officer wouldnt get too picky on that i reckon. Its pretty line-ball.

http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/Regist...eredVehicle.htm

According to that link the only conditions for flat towing is the brakes must work, the cars have to be no more than 4metres apart and have a flag on the rope between the cars, with the price of trailer hire or a tow truck i know i wouldnt bother flat towing anything.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
