Just an update on the protein testing...

DTS were nice enough to send me confirmation that they got my enquiry, but not to actually reply to it (been a few days now). So I will attempt contact with the other Melbourne based lab.

Reading a blog that talks about the dangers of melatonin; some of these reader comments are hilarious

I think melatonin should be banned or at least have warnings on it.I used it every night for 3 months and I gained 20 pounds!

Im someone who has always been in shape and never weighed more then 120 pounds,so that kind of weight gain was unheard of for me.

I really think the melatonin played a role in that weight gain.I was also crying and sleepy all the time.I thought it was safe to take because it is marketed as a natural supplement. But it in fact gave me symptoms of being bipolar or having a mental illness instead!

Im a very health conscience person. I dont eat meat or poultry, just a little fish. I take a slurry of supplements. I exercise regularly doing lite weights, cardio boxing, yoga and pilates! Im an active mother of 4 kids and work and have always maintained a size 6 (other than 25-30 pounds of weight gain during pregnancy) Recently I used malatonin 3mg 3-4 times a week for 2 months and I have jumped to a size 8. I have increased my exercise and decreased my carbs and I still gained weight. Yes, I am responsible for putting that pill in my mouth at night! I assure you its not my diet or lack of movement!!!

Why are people so stupid. Why would you continue to dose yourself up on something if it was having negative effects

People think that just because something can be bought without a prescription (in the USA anyway), then it's no holds barred. And some people think that stuff with a prescription is completely safe too!

I just thought it was funny people blaming 20 pounds of weight gain on a 5mg hormone, as if the weight magically appears out of nowhere. I don't care what effect it has on metabolism, in the end you control what goes into your mouth and what exercise you do. Trying a new medication? Track what you eat and the exercise you do in case it changes.

Someone put it best there - always people looking to abdicate personal responsibility onto something else. Then they go and say to ofhers DON'T TAKE THIS STUFF IT CAUSED ME TO EAT YUMMY DESSERTS WITH EXTRA SPRINKLES EVERY NIGHT. It's the "maccas made me fat" mentality. Amazing how my diet and exercise remained the same, consequently didn't gain any weight on melatonin.

It seems true from my searching, however it didn't come without penalty...there were hundreds of cases settled in court; they paid hundreds of millions to victims in class action and individual law suits. People should be in jail over it, though.

Birds: Supp testing update?

Markos/all: What's the conventional wisdom on where to drive from with the squat, I find the weight shifting forward for me and I'm driving more from the ball of my foot. I've been told different things heel vs ball, but in my head if I go and jump bare foot, it ain't the heel that wants to land first and take the impact.

I've ALWAYS heard driving from the heel. If you're finding yourself putting more weight onto the ball of your foot, perhaps try a wider stance - that helped for me.

I'm already pretty wide in my opinion, maybe a bit outside shoulder width and I go low bar.

Interestingly physio advocated ball drive too, she said mechanically it's where you are supposed to push from.

Well yeah, under normal circumstances lol. I'd think when you've got 100kg+ on your back, it's in your best interests to drive as directly as you can by employing less joints directly into the movement...but I've never actually been shown how to squat by a professional, just multiple bros :P

    • Did some FASTing ...got the impression that the actual part# was a moot point ; seems all of these hardlines for coolant are discontinued/NLA... like, I take it you're after the hardline that bolts onto to the manifold...that's NLA according to amayama & nengun .... ...just to clear up some confusion, they typically mounted the AAC valve to the intake manifold somewhere near a coolant passage, so the body of the valve heats up & holds it open when engine's up to temp - no coolant flows through the valve, it's a mechanical, thermal connection.
    • And now the bloody flapper is jammed slightly open. Lazy as all f**k in 3rd-5th (very hard to convince it to make much boost before you run out of revs), but will make 12 psi in 1st, which shouldb't be possible with a 5 psi spring and controller set to <10 psi. Methinks I'm lucky it jammed where it did, rather than fully closed. It's actually a well weird situation. Careful examination of what's happening in the back of that housing when the gearbox comes out and all the other stuff (injectors, AFM retune) is supposed to be done, next week.
    • The powder coating came in at $250 EACH. The TRX rims got a coat of clearcoat on the outside only.
    • Bit wet, but YUMMY
    • Keeping in mind that I am currently getting flat 10 L/100km on my RB25DET, which means >>500km/tank. I would test this car for vacuum leaks, check codes and AFM signal with NissDataScan as D says, check plugs, do a compression check while they are out.
