Birds
Good stuff...that will be a similar substitute for the seated compound row exercise. dezz
Strawberry WPI from BN goes alright. Slightly milkier taste than the chocolate but easy enough to drink, not as sweet and higher protein % than the choc. Smells like strawberry ice cream too lol Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/200767-gym-and-supplement-discussion/page/90/#findComment-5984738 Share on other sites

Trozzle
Anybody recommend somewhere online to get a dips belt (to hang weights from)? Planet Max here in Canberra is only place I've checked, and the only one they stock is $59 (probs ok, but steep until I know what's average) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/200767-gym-and-supplement-discussion/page/90/#findComment-5990507 Share on other sites

some_cs_student
I found some chains here: http://www.gymdirect.com.au/product-search-result.htm But you would be bankrupt (and amazingly strong) by the time you looked like your above post. Trozzle
Ehh if you reckon that's reasonable then fair enough, tomorrow ill grab one Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/200767-gym-and-supplement-discussion/page/90/#findComment-5990742 Share on other sites
mad082
if you want chains just go to your local boat shop, or even a fishing shop. you can get some pretty decent size chains (anchor chain, they sell it by the metre and it's cheap), and they are usually glavanised so sweat shouldn't be an issue rusting them, LOL. NickR33
Anybody recommend somewhere online to get a dips belt (to hang weights from)? Planet Max here in Canberra is only place I've checked, and the only one they stock is $59 (probs ok, but steep until I know what's average) you just need a weight belt and a short length of chain or rope... better than chains IMO as you can hang different size plates from it and be pretty specific about what weight your lifting... you also don't have to lug weight to and from the gym just a belt then you can use the weight belt for squats/deads etc... if you just get a dip belt you can really only use it for dips/pull ups Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/200767-gym-and-supplement-discussion/page/90/#findComment-5991291 Share on other sites

I meant the exact type of thing someone linked in response to me - the belt with chain that you hang plates from anyway. It only has a single use though, doesn't provide support if I wanted to use it with deadlifts or something Either way, I'm gonna rock on over to planet max today and see what I'll get Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/200767-gym-and-supplement-discussion/page/90/#findComment-5991369 Share on other sites
dezz
http://shop.ebay.com.au/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m570.l1313&_nkw=weight+dip+belt&_sacat=See-All-Categories $20-$30 But I'd be going with Nick's idea...don't see the point in having a different belt just for that when a normal belt with a chain will do the same thing Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/200767-gym-and-supplement-discussion/page/90/#findComment-5991429 Share on other sites

Planet Max here in Canberra is only place I've checked, and the only one they stock is $59 (probs ok, but steep until I know what's average) I just put them between my thighs and lock my ankles.. inb4thatswutshesaid I always wanted a belt, but couldnt justify spending $x for one excercise. Now I do multiple excercises which could utilise a belt, but still couldnt justify.. lol. GTR_JOEY
Use some thick rope, tie a knot and hang it from ur waist, not too tight though,.. dont worry itll stay on there i do it for chin ups and dips.. heaps cheaper Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/200767-gym-and-supplement-discussion/page/90/#findComment-5992233 Share on other sites

NickR33
I can't claim the idea, there is a weight belt at my gym setup like that... I only use the belt for weighted dips/pull ups... I have never used a belt for squats/deads etc no idea when you should look at using one... I'm still under 200% bodyweight on those lifts so not sure I need to use one yet... and I don't do 1rm I went to the gym at lunch today, gym is too packed after work... think I'm going to make lunch sessions a regular thing... I can't get up early enough to go before work lol Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/200767-gym-and-supplement-discussion/page/90/#findComment-5993429 Share on other sites
