I was just thinking the other day as i filled my skyline up with Bp ultimate, that there is actually other servos that stock 98 octane fuel... Peak and Caltex crossed my mind. I was wondering what you guys think of those servos 98's... are they just as good if not better then BP?

Just another quick question that is totally unrelated to this topic.. when skylines are imported from Japan are they imported dry? by that i mean with all their fluid been drained? Then filled up when they arrive here?

BP Ultimate > V Power > Vortex

The available 98 is usually BP Ultimate, Shell V Power And Caltex Vortex.

I have tried all of these in my GTS-T and it performs best on the BP Ultimate followed by Caltex Vortex and Shell V Power in that order.

In my GTR I run Sheel V Power Racing that is rated at 100. The GTR really loves this stuff and although supply is a pain due to the limited places where you can buy it the hassel of getting it is worth it for the improvement in mid range responsiveness.

I use BP Ultimate 98 RON. I used to use Shell Optimax but my mechanic said it was a bit too dry, BP is a wetter fuel.

I was about to try V-Power Racing 100 RON, but friend told me it does bugger all.

When selling a car in Japan most of the time the owners / dealers don't bother filling it up. (Well I guess you won't bother filling up the car if ya selling it. Basicaly your giving the new owner a free tank of fuel) + the cars are re-tuned for our fuel standards.

I've tried BP ultimate and Vortex, but my r33 gtst doesn't like them, It stalls after you fill it up and I can't notice any power gains and I get worse fuel economy. Mine must be tuned for unleaded 91 or something because it has no problems on that juice.

I got over 605 KMs to a full tank of BP Ultimate this week. 70% highway driving with occasional full throttle, 30% peak hour traffic and local streets.

The light still did not come on so I must have had anothr 10 litres easy in the tank, so I could of easily done 650 KMs to a full tank of fuel.

Talking about economy.

Thats around 9 litres per 100 K... even lower if I still kept driving. ;)

    • Why are you so adamant on going M12? Why not follow Brad (GTSBoy) suggestion. You're talking moving from a 1/8" size, to a 1/2" effectively. 4 times bigger. Why skip the commonly available sizes in between? The bigger you go, the more likely you are to strip the threads out at a later date, as guaranteed, someone will put a huge spanner on the M12 and really tighten it up, and you're only in thin wall, so not a lot of threads to engage!
    • Hi. Yeah thanks. Car is already at tuners and it staying there to resolve "many" issues they do not like. So it is in a good hands. Getting a good tune on that Nistune ECU too so the car would be good. Just needs a little tune up and love.
    • Probably gonna remove manifold and turbo. I’m not sure if I can get M12 x 1.5 air tight. Could use high temp Loctite 246 or something similar, but I don’t know. Maybe it’s just best to remove everything again and weld an 1/8NPT on there instead.
    • Yeah, saw the ratios, not impressed. Would like the punch I have in the first gears now. With those ratios it won't be the same.  Also want the h pattern gearing, or at least a quiet gear set that don't need to come apart for service each year. Looks like the only "reasonable" way Is a 8hp70 transmission, but where is the fun in that🤷‍♂️
