G4s they are HARD as on Australian Roads especially here in Melbourne.

When i go through tram tracks, my dash would shake badly if there are humps. 12kg fronts if i'm not wrong. Pretty damn stiff for the road. Track they are fine though.

I had G4s in my MR2. They were good while i had 18's on but were horrible and hard as when i got the 20's on. They are one of the harder coilovers even on softest setting.

Saying that, i would still consider a set for my r32.

there is nothing wrong with G4 coilovers or other entry level coilovers like d2. The reason why they are so hard is due to the spring rate, when you purchases the coilover it comes with a set spring rate but you can order them with a softer one if you like and it should not cost you anymore.

I ran d2 in my car for over 2years with the car doing track work and i found them very good for the price i paid for them, yes they were a bumpy/hard suspension but that was due to them being the track spec so they had a rather large spring rate.

if you are going to buy them ask for the spring rate to be around the 4-6kg and the setup shouldn't be as hard/bumpy.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
