um ok weird topic.

the wheels are gonna spin, it just depends on your skill and throttle/clutch position to stop that.

and when it is spinnin, be careful its a r200 diff. u will notice it will turn to one side.=dangerous

If you want a car that doesnt wheelspin buy a hyundi exel.

Skylines tend to have traction issues, especially when modified so if you dont want wheelspin i'd suggest buying something else :D

my stock bunky r33 gtst (160rwhp, 235 wide rear tyres) = wont break traction in 1st coming onto boost (ie, just engage the clutch then flooring it from 1500rpm, no dropping the clutch)

my bros r33 gtst with basic mods (280rwho, 265 wide rear tyres) = will break traction coming onto boost in 2nd gear

mates r33gtst with a few more mods (400rwhp, 265 wide rear tyres) = will break traction coming onto boost in 3rd gear

it all depends how you drive, even my bunky gtst will smoke 2nd gear if i drop the clutch

hope that helps

or a gtr

I was going to say that, but I figured if you cant handle a Gts-t because of a bit of wheelspin you shouldnt be driving a GTR so suggested something a little safer lol

On topic, I have found that all the Gts-t's & GT-T's i've come across have had traction problems if your trying do get a good time at the drags even when relatively stock. But if you drive them like a normal car they are quite easy to drive and grip ok. Quality tyres make a HUGE difference in my experience too

had my car for 2 months now, tyres are at about <50%!!

alot of traction issuses when just full throttling in the wet and hitting boost < stock car except exhaust!

but i've found throttle control is really important in the wet!!

when you drive a line long enough you will know when the car will break traction and how it will, it is the driver not the car so you should be asking yourself do you have enough self control not to break traction.

if you have a good set of tyres and an ounce of common sense you should be right.

    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
    • Sounds good, we will aim to be there! @The Bogan I'll give you a shout if you are heading up to campbelltown for the meet too.
    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
    • Nah that is just crappy GPS mapping, I did have a small excursion (cold tyres, damp track, surprise!), will post up that when I get a chance.
