Who Is Coming To Drive Watch Drift This Weekend?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering who is going to drive/spectate at the drift this saturday at calder park?

This is the First open practice event this year on a weekend or in the daytime for that matter, which makes for good photo opertunities, and there may not be another one. Due to the high price of track hire.

The experienced drivers will be driving the track backwards! for one section entering blind over the hill into the shicane on the back straight is really scary! The best drivers kicking it oposite scando styles before the even get to the hill then exchanging over the rise!!not to mention great to watch as cars slide out of the last corner on the long track and skim the wall as they jam third and hit limiter all the way up the straight.

The Holfrods S14 and JDS Imports LS1 s13 will be testing their cars for the DA series......and i hear Chris Dejager will have his new car there as well.

Should be a great day of thrashing!

Hope to see you all there.

Cheers Warwick

High powered performance street cars, high precision driving, Calder Park is now drifting nearly every last Wednesday of the month.

Fans, whether you want to spectate or compete, make sure that you're there to enjoy and join in on all the spectacular side by side, triple and quad action!- Drifting at Calder Park!

Gates Open: 5:00pm

Racing: 6:00pm through to 10:00 (entries & weather permitting)

Entry Prices

Competitors: $90

Spectators: $15

For further event information, contact reception on 03 9091 0800 or at [email protected]

Who can compete?

Anyone can compete. You do not have to have a highly modified car to drift. Unlike most forms of motorsport, it is not about times or track position, it is about finesse, style and car control.

Drifting is judged by officials who follow a set of rules and regulations and therefore purely relies on the driver’s skill.

FLAGS

Yellow Flag:

Will be waved or shown to warn drivers of a hazard ahead or in the area of that yellow flag, there is not to be any DRIFTING/SLIDING or OVERTAKING on the next corner after the yellow flag was shown.

Red Flag/Flashing Red Lights:

Drivers must stop immediately where they are on the track and await further instructions from an official.

Black Flag:

Driver to leave circuit and report to the meeting director.
