just thought I should mention that early model series 1 stageas cannot run an unmodified R34 PFC.

It looks like in early 98 (probably the same time they release the r34 skyline) they changed the ECU wiring in stageas.

R34 GTT PFC will not run a pre 98 stagea without modification of the pins. It starts and then stalls straight away

the guys up at Hills Motorsport are working through it now but there are significant changes required

First problem is the CAS signal is in the wrong place

Second problem if you sort that, is the knock sensors are at a different pin. this is bad.

Will post up all the differences once we've got them sorted

so...shouldnt you just use an R33 pfc ?

keep us updated please

* better hold off on the tune of mine then

that being said, Im still thinking about piggybacking it.

boostwerks have a bloke they will call in, a nissan wiring freak they reckon, so Im confident in my own way that a solution can be found.

good luck with it

Thanks Brendan I was going to give you a shout about the differences. Mine isn't sorted out yet maybe it will be the same. They are translating wiring diagrams at the moment. Glad I didn't try this one.

well.... I plugged my R34 GTT Power Fc into my 1997 Stagea today

runs for the first 3mins reasonably steady, but gradually starts to hunt for the idle, by the 2.30min mark she is hunting from 800 down to 300, then stalls,

cant get past that 3min mark without having to reset and retry.

but definately runs.

onlly errors on the PFc hand controller is "Boost" and "Thro", boost at 0.00v (just realized now I had the boost control kit option turned on, not off, oops) and thro at 5.11V

also I never made a change to the Airflow metre setting.

might go reinstall it, and setup the settings properly, see what happens

wonder if Neo injectors have different values than non-neo rb25 injectors, ie latency difference from 0.528msec to xxxx

this wont matter to me in the long run, as I have some S15 480cc highflowed to 550cc injectors, with 1.100msec latency. that will be setup at the tuners

along with the mod to stop the engine check light

if THRO is at the ceiling value 5.11v im not surprised its staling

the FC is being told the throttle position sensor is out of scale or disconnected

ive seen my GTST THRO drop to 0.0v and peg there - the FC locks the revs really high on idle around 1600rpm and keeps it there

i would suggest looking into why THRO isnt working - the car wont work without it

is THRO the TPS signal?

if so, I believe it needs a rewire.

ie throttle motor sensor signal pin# is different on R34 GTT PowerFC vs Stagea ecu

#51 compared to Blank

whereas all other Throttle signal pins are the same #

I think what your talking about is the throttle motor, which is only on the R34 GTT, and I believe it's used by the traction control system.

If I remember correctly Andy (EGA41T) called the fix "The secret squirrel tweak", do a search for that and you should find your answer.

yup

was pretty sure that was the case

cheers Brendan

already got the diode, resistor and wire, plus the diagram of course

cool. its definately going to work

will book a day I suppose and get all the work done.

550cc deatchwerks injectors (hiflowed 480cc items)

hks heavy duty actuator

stock bov, oil, filter

powerfc + boostcontrol kit + secret squirrel trick

splitfire coilpacks + .8mm copper sparkies

(Id put most on myself, but cant be stuffed leaning over the engine; just ruins my knees = not worth it)

ok if thats the case then in SENSOR SW CHECK should have TPS and THRO

do you have both >?

    • The incentives are mostly the same, yes. Ethanol is cheap compared to the cost of doing 98-100 RON with crude oil alone. 87 to 93-94 AKI all with E10. In 2020 Canada mandated E10 as a part of their "renewable fuel standard" and is supposedly going to go to E15 in 2030. In California where there are only 8 refineries with two threatening to shut down next year it's been over 20 years now of E10 and 91 AKI maximum because there's just not enough refinery capacity or crude oil supply relative to the demand for premium unleaded fuel. And CARB's low carbon fuel standard means functionally none of the diesel available at the pump is made from crude oil anymore. It's almost all entirely 20% biodiesel blended with 80% renewable diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil) now. The number of gasoline vehicles that support E15 or higher ethanol concentrations is surprisingly low, I can't imagine it being wise to play tricks like this without flex fuel sensors in most of the fleet.
    • It's almost certainly the same as the one next to it. Have a fish around amongst these hits https://www.google.com/search?q=surface+mount+transistor+m33&sca_esv=9cb49794e0b2005d&source=hp&ei=2vJ5aNjTB7Kw0PEPldnS8QM&iflsig=AOw8s4IAAAAAaHoA6qkfmF6XcygtrZ4Vu9f92NXF_RFd&ved=0ahUKEwjYqIPP7MWOAxUyGDQIHZWsND4Q4dUDCA8&uact=5&oq=surface+mount+transistor+m33&gs_lp=Egdnd3Mtd2l6IhxzdXJmYWNlIG1vdW50IHRyYW5zaXN0b3IgbTMzMgUQIRigATIFECEYoAEyBRAhGKABMgUQIRigAUjKCFAAWABwAHgAkAEAmAHfAaAB3wGqAQMyLTG4AQPIAQD4AQL4AQGYAgGgAuYBmAMAkgcDMi0xoAfMBLIHAzItMbgH5gHCBwMyLTHIBwU&sclient=gws-wiz
    • South Australia, which is hardly as far behind as the rest pf Oz makes out, and who is also not a paragon of progressiveness (read that as over-legislation) in the area of vehicle standards, has this to say on the subject: Adjustable coil-over suspension Aftermarket adjustable coil-over suspension components are suspension units that incorporate an external thread on the main body and corresponding threaded spring saddle that allows the vehicle's suspension height to be varied. If fitting aftermarket or coil-over suspension components you must submit an Application to modify a light motor vehicle form and a report from a light vehicle engineering signatory (LVES).
    • Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers
    • Those above shitboxes, mediocre and above usually have a turbo strapped to them, hence the slightly higher octane is required.
