were all here for the same thing. cars, friends and cheap car shit!

We all are, but I dont know about Tim/Ted - only post I see coming out of him is bagging out Skylines and giving various member crap.

Oh and I spotted Dan stirring things up on SAU's spotted thread last night :D

Im not quite understanding here......

So for example, if a newbie came along and saw Dan and/or Dave "stirring" yourself or anyone for that matter, and saw that they had the "privilige" to do so, then it should be open slather for them or anyone else to do the same, shouldnt it?? Im not seeing how 2 or more people have more "privilges" than any normal forum user, after all in this country we are all about equal rights arent we??

Its ok to be mates outside of the forum, but when it comes to when everyone and moderating on a forum, the mateship should go out the door and mate or not should be treated the same way as a first poster.

Its not "priviliges" between members having a bit of fun, its the fact that they're acquianted with each other. Good humour comes with good mateship. Certain members (we know who they are) lack the "mateship" value and substitute it with "insults/personal attacks". Some posts can be taken in good humour, whereas others are a direct (tho incognito) insult to other members/moderators.

A good example is the "cool kids club" with the blue mesh. :P We've all taken it in good humour, those who are mates (ie have met one another and attended events together) understand the person's humour and personality. But certain keyboard warriors just want to be insulting, for the pure sake of being insulting. I've seen endless insults at the blue mesh on my Stagea on another forum, but I really don't care. My car is my car, and it has their attention. And if that's all that they can bitch about with my car, then overall they must like it ... but just can't bring themselves to admit it. I've met people from here and other forums who are completely different people to how they behave online.

Therefore, some members just want to insult other members, as opposed to some members having a good chuckle with one another. The Mods can identify the difference between the two ... and its not too hard when it comes to some insulting members ... and they take whatever disciplinary measures are required, because they're authorised to do so, albeit under strict rules themselves. I've had my own share of discipline from the Mods ... even in person. Most of us do not hide behind a keyboard, and we're man enough to face the consequences of our actions.

So there really is no "equal rights" when everyone is so different and are known or unknown in person. I think the mods do a great job.

:D

Back on topic ... spotted a silver 4 door 33 ... whilst driving my white 4 door 33 ... this morning near City Mazda! No time to wave, because the boy was talking his head off :D

rubes...your turbo made my car less powerful....i knew i shouldve put mesh on it

Didn't I just read you doubled it from 75 to 150??? Add blue mesh and push for 200! :D

Guys like Dan, Dave etc can stir me and know how I'll take it cause they're mates.......you on the other hand have not built up any repour with me and therefore not only don't have the privilige of doing so, but it's not welcome.

And as for the mesh.....You keep telling yourself that ok!

:D :D

And as for the mesh.....You keep telling yourself that ok!

dude if you were seriously complaining avoid comments like that, makes us think you just having a dig

you are a feeble minded warrior with little man syndrome

little man syndrome can generally only occur when the man is little.

You say that you can successfully separate sentiments on these boards with real life.........yeah right, I can't so I don't know how you can......I'd almost lay odds that you would cross the road in public if you saw me coming towards you......you clearly know nothing about me or my past life experiences or what sets me off, yet you are prepared to keep stirring the pot and risk whatever possible outcome that may or may not eventuate.

your problem, not mine. if you cant take the internet for what it is, then that's your fault, i treat people on the basis of how they act in real life. The idea of carrying a grudge over from the forums into real life is foreign for me, it just doesnt make sense and id feel like a complete dick if i ever did that.

Your insults have not been deleted and you haven't been banned (YET) so how do I have double standards?!! :D

what insults? all ive done here is critisize the moderation, i havnt called anyone names. apart from a little shit stirring i havent made any personal attacks towards you, which is why it amazes me how big of an issue ur making out of this.

Nightcrawler stated that he'd doubt if you would sling your insults to my face and you clearly replied that you wouldn't to a cop but you would to me........well that'll be an interesting day that I look forward to!

actually u misread, i said id stand by my argument, once again i havent insulted you here.

if you read through my posts both on here and ns, you'll find i rarely outright call people names unprovoked, because it is a very warriorish thing to do, and i wouldnt do it in real life. stirring a little bit of shit, and coming straight out and saying "you're a wanker" is completely different. i will stand up for an argument in real life, and i make no apologies about it, if you're not mature enough to participate in an argument without getting ur fists out, once again, your issue not mine.

ive also met nisskid once at his house a few years back when i bought an idle control valve off him. said if it didnt work bring it back and he would give my cash back. seemed like a nice enough guy.

cheers man, yeh as much as i stir shit on ns, i have a pretty decent relationship with a lot of the SA members, it's simply because no one takes stuff too seriously.

i dont know if u remember back in the day when it was me vs the cool kids in the SA section on ns, but we gave eachother proper payouts and had proper arguments, a lot worse than here, but when it came time to meeting them in real life we just had a laugh about the shit stirring etc. there were no hard feelings because no one takes the shit seriously, its just a bit of fun to pass some time.

as soon as you take the internet serious, you're doing it wrong.

Most of us do not hide behind a keyboard, and we're man enough to face the consequences of our actions.

but that's not how it works, if someone was to seriously give ted shit, they should be dealt out the same punishment if ted gave someone else shit. just because mods dont like ted doesnt mean anyone can break the rules, as long as its towards a member the mods dont like. the same as a mod cant just give someone shit because they dont like them, and then ban them when they are given shit back. doesnt work like that, rules are simple, you give someone shit (not in a joking fashion like u talk about) then they get warned/banned, regardless of who its towards or who it's from.

Spotted a middle-aged guy in a VL stoved into a stobie pole yesterday on Muller Road. Car was absolutely mangled - and he had crossed over a median strip and driven for a short period on the wrong side of the road in order to have hit the pole like that. Crazy.

Didn't get a photo - as soon as I lifted up my camera cruising past at 25km/h the cop there saw the camera and gave me the filthiest look ever.

spotted white r31 plates gtsyx something something

guy was in a hurry, overtaking me in the slip turn right on and off the road slip thing u know what i mean

on salisbury highway where that guy nearly died 6months ago while changing a tyre. great move major flash backs for me

    • So I mentioned the apprentice, @LachyK helped take the bonnet off. We just undid the nuts on the hinges and unclipped the gas struts, then pulled the bonnet back a little as the front was catching on the front bar.  I had a good look at everything today and have removed the rams, repaired/reset the hinges and bolted it back together like it never happened. I'll do a separate write up on the repair, and I also removed the poppers from the Fuga today too to save grief down the road.....as said above it is at least $5k to repair retail. I'm also happier about my ability to prepare a race car, and less happy about Nis-nault's engineering (I can hear @GTSBoy sAfrican Americaning) because the top hose of the radiator didn't slip off.......it snapped clean off. By practice I put the hose clamp hard up against the flare on a neck to make it least likely to ever move (thanks @Neil!). I guess that puts a little more pressure on the end of the pipe as it is further away from the rad, but still, that is pretty shit. I've put it back on for now as there was a fair bit of neck still there, but obviously there is no lip on the neck any more so I don't think I'll track it again until I have a new rad. Speaking of which....more research required. It looks like Koyo makes a standard size radiator in ally which I'll grab in the meantime, but I really want something thicker so might have to go custom in the medium term (ouch) Coolant still needs a refill and I have the pressure tester on it over night, but other than a wash down of the engine bay it seems alright. And @MBS206 noted something noisy on the front of the engine and I think I agree....time for a new accessory belt and tensioners I think.
    • our good friends at nismo make a diff for it, I have one (and a spare housing to put the centre in) on the way. https://www.nismo.co.jp/products/web_catalogue/lsd/mechanical_lsd_v37.html AMS also make a helical one, but I prefer mechanical for track use in 2wd (I do run a quaife in the front, but not rear of the R32)
    • What are we supposed to be seeing in the photo of the steering angle sensor? The outer housing doesn't turn, right? All the action is on the inside. The real test here is whether or not your car has had the steering put back together by a butcher. When the steering is centred (and we're not caring about the wheel too much here, we're talking about the front wheels, parallel, facing front) then you should have an absolutely even number of turns from centre to left lock and centre to right lock. If there is any difference at all then perhaps the thing has been put back together wrongly, either the steering wheel put on one spline (or more!) off, and the alignment bodged to straighteb the wheel, or the opposite where something silly was done underneath and the wheel put back on crooked to compensate. Nut there isn't actually much evidence that you have such a problem anyway. It is something you can easily measure and test for to find out though. My money is still on the HICAS CU not driving the PS solenoid with the proper PWM signal required to lighten the load at lower speed. If it were me, I would be putting either a multimeter or oscilloscope onto the solenoid terminals and taking it for a drive, looking for the voltage to change. The PWM signal is 0v, 12V, 0V, 12v with ...obviously...modulated pulse width. You should see that as an average voltage somewhere between 0V and 12V, and it should vary with speed. An handheld oscilloscope would be the better tool for this, because they are definitely good enough but there's no telling if any cheap shit multimeter that people have lying around are good enough. You can also directly interfere with the solenoid. If you wire up a little voltage divider with variable resistor on it, and hook the PS solenoid direct to 12V through that, you can manually adjust the voltage to the solenoid and you should be able to make it go ligheter and heavier. If you cannot, then the problem is either the solenoid itself dead, or your description of the steering being "tight" (which I have just been assuming you mean "heavy") could be that you have a mechanical problem in the steering and there is heaps of resistance to movement.
    • Little update  I have shimmed the solenoid on the rack today following Keep it Reets video on YouTube. However my steering is still tight. I have this showing on Nisscan, my steering angle sensor was the closest to 0 degrees (I could get it to 0 degrees by small little tweaks, but the angle was way off centre? I can't figure this out for the life of me. I get no faults through Nisscan.
    • The BES920 is like the Toyota Camrys of coffee machines. E61 group head is cool, however the time requirements for home use makes it less desirable. The Toyota Camry coffee machine runs twin boilers and also PID temp control, some say it produces coffees as good as an E61 group head machine.
