Caltex got the best? Apparently BP is best for R33's.... like u said, doesnt matter... Car still runs better on BP premium. :cheers:

i dunno either? but the way i look at it and my opinion is:

BP ultimate = Pioneer

Shell = Sony

Caltex = Panasonic

United = DSE/Home Brand

or in other words cheapo fuels will burn quicker because of quality? but i'm a noob so odn't listen to me lolz.

well octanes under a micro scope look different . the caltex ones have much better athletic bodies and are trained at high altitude. where a mobil octane tends to be more or a muscular octane with short burst power that fades away over distance .... the bp ultimate is a combination of vortex and sugar free redbull hence why the turboed cars tend to go reel well on it until the taurine wears off on hot humid temperatures.

Thats kilometer wise, how about engine wise? or the feel of how much better does your car run?

doesnt seem to be saying no to it :cheers:

very very smooth.

All the 98ron fuel go well with the engine, but the caltex one gets more klms per ltr

in true ACA fashion, that test was pathetic and proved nothing but how their topics are chosen on the basis of how interesting the ad will sound.

the test was done on standard unleaded for starters. the difference in mileage could easily be attributed to the car on the day. we all know that no two cars are exactly the same, even if theyre the same model.

the difference between best and worse was soemthing like 8%. but then they decided to run 2 of the cars (why only 2?) on premium on the run back (BP and i think Mobile?).

the difference there over the standard unleaded was 7%. lol. so the test was basically a waste of time and told us nothing about anything.

Just watched it...

At the end of the day, they're the same model cars, but they're not THE SAME CAR, so its not exactly an accurate test...not to mention that any difference in throttle application before they got onto the freeway will affect the overall outcome. Not to mention that the speedo on each car might be different to the speedo on all of the others etc...so when they're dealing with a difference of 600ml, it really doesn't mean a thing considering all of the variables in the test.

I can't believe they even needed to test driving aggressively against driving conservatively...did they expect it to not turn out that way?

I hate these shows with their bullshit 'journalism'.

I wonder if ACA will be fined for littering, when the bald tosser threw $20 out the window...

LOL! yeh idiot threw the money out the window...trying to be a sick kent on t.v..what a dumbass...could've used that for extra 98 octane! i wonder if they pulled over and tried to go back for it on the freeway.

Don't use United and Liberty fuels... reason being, that they're bio-fuels

pulled fuel lines and changed fuel filter out of a truck the other day and found it to have slimy moss (green stuff on rocks)

couldn't believe it... never again will i use these fuels, but wanting to try ethanol based fuels

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
