need to be there by like 8.30am

am pretty sure its a 1.5 hr drive - so i plan on leaving home about 7ish

*fingers crossed* it gets me there in time :D

there is also a group of officials leaving the Village Green at 7am

Damn, that was seriously cold and wet!

Didn't get to take many pics due to being reasonably busy with flagging. Here's the pics I did take. Apologies to the drivers that my camera auto flashed :)

this was a test to see how long the cam took to take a pic... at least there isn't a blurry car in it

Note to self: Get a new camera... that's not crap

Good day though, especially the free lunch :) Noting too exciting near my corner which is a good thing for the cars, just a couple of geese that got too close to the track :O

Aaron did a 1:44.8.. :worship:

That is all....

Aaron is BACK!!! Yeahhhh damn that's impressive.

I wanted to be there, but had last minute f*ck up with my car.... I'm going to get down there for the PIARC weekend

Was a great day, Just glad my car kept on keeping on without too many hiccups... It was dissapointing some of the other datsuns didn't get through scrutineering considering they had both raced before with the same setup, but what can you do..

I don't suppose anyone has any pics of the datsuns?

I think i saw someone with a camera on turn 2 in the wet, and i'd love to see the photos :worship:

Yeah i had a good day as well, only got in the practice and one session before the rain though. While i'm on that... what the hell happened with the day? gates opened around eight and drivers briefing still going at 10:30? plenty more session could have come before the rain if things were running on time!

That aside i benefitted from some bigger wheels/ tyres and some new front suspension and brakes. it was great to be able to pull up with ease, one extra vote for the QFM A1RM pads :worship:

How would i go about joining the PIARC day in about a month?

It was a good weekend. as good as it can be when you arent driving. not a very big skyline crowd down there for some reason.

As for the track day itself, unless there is some unknow hiccups behind the scene, it was average... Cars were not on track until 11ish!!! the porsche club were there today and they were on track at about 9am....

I don't suppose anyone has any pics of the datsuns?

    • Nope, needed to clearance under the bar a little with a heat gun, a 1/2" extension as the "clearancer", and big hammer, I was aware of this from the onset, they fit a 2.0 with this intake no problems, but, the 2.5 is around 15mm taller than a 2.0, so "clearancing" was required  It "just" touched when test fitting, now, I have about 10mm of clearance  You cannot see where it was done, and so far, there's no contact when giving it the beans Happy days
    • It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The last year (and some) has been very hectic. In the second-half of 2024 I took the R34 on a trip through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland - it was f*cking great. I got a little annoyed with the attention the car was getting around Europe and really didn't drive it that much. I could barely work on the car since I was living in an inner-city apartment (with underground parking). During the trip, the car lost power steering in France - split hose - and I ended up driving around 4,000kms with no power steering.  There were a few Nurburgring trips here and there, but in total the R34 amassed just shy of 7,000kms on European roads. Long story short, I broke up with the reason I was transferred to Europe for and requested to be moved back to Japan. The E90, loved it. It was a sunk cost of around EUR 10,000 and I sold it to a friend for EUR 1,500 just to get rid of it quickly. Trust me, moving countries f*cking sucks and I could not be bothered to be as methodical as I was the first time around.
    • I assume clearances were all a-okay?
    • Shock tower brace is in +5Kw....LOL
