The guys from the west (Im from Hillside/Sydenham) if u see a guy with funny hair in a blue senator with plates HSVBRO and hes tailgating u or geeing u up at the lights, Im not doing it to be a hero, I just want to see how ur car goes!!! Most Skylines kill me anyways!!

Love the sound of them and went on the first skyline cruise last week and the sight and sound of nearly thrity skylines roarinf thru the tunnel was grouse!!

The words 'cheap' and 'Nissan' shouldn't be used in the same sentence.

Welcome to the dark side. :D

Unless you drive a Tiida or a Poosaar, which in that case, you should find a water well and drown yoself...

haha, well looks like i have alot to learn....

1. never use the word 'grouse'..... how bout 'sik'? lmao

2. never insult skyline drivers by using 'cheap' and 'nissan' in the same sentence

3. forced induction aint cheap

thanks for the comments guys and i dont think the plates HSVBRO will suit a skyline.... nut then again, u never know... shud be at the cruise for the westys this week and i think i'll have to hitch a ride with a mates skyline, dont wanna ruin the whole 'twenty skylines owning the road' thing u's have got going.... jokes

and to me i see it as cheap power.... to get 220rwkw out of a 5 litre, biiiiiiiig dollars... wat more than 7-8 g's yeah? a skyline? 2 g's? thats wat i meant... didnt mean to offend lol.. hope to meet a few of u guys at the meets :D

Technically that is trying to "g" someone up.

I think the other thing here is that BIG power in a skyline normally equates to about 350kw or so these days... Even that is getting mild...

Welcome to the fold bro.

There are ways to get good value for money power. I prefer to build my own engines, the last being a 700hp 3.0L with 26 head that came in for just under $5K in my race car (GTS25t but twin turbo). My GTR does 500hp as a daily driver and I will kick that up to 600hp at the next tune. Parts were 3K for the computer, turbos and injectors. Good handling in a GTR is only $2500 away as well and given a GTR33 can be had for less than 25K that is good value, especially considering the Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Audi RS4 I've driven recently all don't compare as an all round performer. That is 1.4Mill worth of comparison and I'd keep the GTR anyday and flog off the others if they were a freebie.

a neighbour of mine already has CYA-57L .now if it was on a skyline, that would be good.

can i ask why your not going for the r34GTT instead of the r33?

hah those plates wud be tuff on a skyline.... i prefer the look of the r33 over the r34... dont know why, just my preference and i probably wont have too much to spend so jus gotta aim reasonably

this probly sound real dumb, but how much different all round is there between an r33 GTST and an R34GTT? the r33GTST are goin for around 13ish, wat wud a r34 GTT be worth?

Technically that is trying to "g" someone up.

im not denying that i am trying to gee them up, just some ppl think im geeing them up coz i want to beat them.... coz im a hero (which im not) lol. and i cant beat them

I bought my GTT for 26k, well I borrowed 10k off the old man.. But you get m'drift...

You can find GTT's for around 20k if you look hard enough, but personally, I wouldn't advise getting anything that is any cheaper... yet..

However I got a 4 door, turbo manual which is a bit rare, if your going a turbo manual coupé, or a turbo auto taxi, then things get a bit cheaper...

Hot 4's are selling their project car on Ebay, it is an absolute steal atm..

    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
