regardless of it being an n/a or turbo or a gtr I beleive the price is the same. but under the new rules the price will be around the $4000 mark. no way it'll be 2000 cause even under the older rules you'd struggle to find compliance for 2000

if you're getting compliance for $2000 stay well clear of the mob, there's a bunch running around sayin it can be done for that much, but then when ppl go for rego they find that the plates are stolen.

Expect to pay $4000 under RAWS (the current scheme). UPI is about 2-3 weeks away from getting their full accreditation, and they should be one of the first to be able to comply em.... unfortunately atm not many people can do em, they will, but they'll make you wait a few weeks for plates, but do the work in the meantime.

eg: 3 car yards in springvale/dandy area quoted me $15k for an N/A R32 GTS back then when I was buyin em.

1 didn't have import approval for the car, it was a cut n shut job

another didn't have compliance plates on it, when I asked him he goes "it'll be done when you buy it".

the third one had brought it in as a GTSt (accordign to the papers) but was now miraculously a GTS.

they're mostly shonky, and as settling as it is to test drive a car, they pull all sorts of dodgy's. Reputable car yards are one thing, but import car yards are cut-throat mofos.

I went to j-spec and I ended up getting the car on the road for 13k with compliance (under the old laws).

If I were you go to the reputable importers like j-spec and risbey, they'll get you a car you want and with j-spec they'll show you EXACTLY what each thing costs every step of the way (with reciepts etc) and you don't pay a large sum, you pay on completion of each step.

sif use risby either... ask Dr_Drift about what he thinks of risbey the yahoo auction man.

Daz - dealerships like Kamikazee or others where they offer u decent cars at a higher price which have been obviously maintained and know about cars go for it... ur average twit at a car yard doesnt know shit about these imports and does dodgeys to get them on the rd... LOTS of cut and shut jobs.

im like munkeh boy... i went to dealers and they were trying to sell me cars which i could physically see were in major accidents as "GRADE 3+!" yeah right... apart from the fact theres no such thing as 3+ i could see when i opened the bonnet the stress marks where the chassis had been buckled and str8end out and slapped back together etc and tried to sell me an R32 GTST for 17k.... i got mine for 12k and the engine was in top condition with genuine low ks and had also been in no major accidents and only 2 minors, 1 replaced front bar and rear right hand lower qtr panel has been repaired.

my general concensus on importer car yards etc are stay well away.

lol.. yer, i'm gonna go direct thru an importer. Its got risk, but well if u don't want risk don't buy an import.

Car yards - erk! Least most of them will be closed under the new scheme or not be able to sell imports like previously, which most would say is a very good thing.

Risbey can well, get Frisbey'ed :(

What I have been told (by an importer) is that compliance for most cars will be around 4.5k, but apparently there *may* in time (say 6 months) be places that will be able to compliance certain models for a bit less than that... So i'd say in time with more competition and established processes things will get a bit cheaper.

Ok, so their goes my idea of buy by r33 n/a for 10g + 2 g comlinece from "Power Road car sales" in Dandenong VIC.

they must be really doggy.

i will go down still to have a look and take some pic and post them if the car is visably been in a accident.

Any One selling a r33 n/a Cheap???

this was because of a technicality in the power to weight ratio, the R33 is more powerful than an R32 GTS (think RB25DE vs RB20DE) so its still eligible for import, but tis only around $500 more to import a R33 GTSt usually

How can this guy in dandy do complince for for $2000???

is he doggy or just nice(lol).

$12000 for a stock manual r33 GTS is Pretty good.

i Think i Will cheak the plates with vic roads, and VACC check the car to be on the safe side of things..

BUt if you know anyone selling A r33 GTS around the price range let me know.

cheers.

haha.. the reason R32 GTS is not allowed to be imported anymore as its under the required power :D and i'm not bullshitting either, there is like a minimum kw/kg under the new scheme for any car to be imported.. its like one of the criteria in assessing it "unique" or "performance" i believe. hehe

    • A few suggestions: Do you have the option of retarding your exhaust cam gear to bring the power band over to the left? VCT would be turned off after you make peak torque, you see the power/torque will decay faster with it left on all the way to the limiter Once VCT is turned off, you'll find the motor will take a bit more timing being ramped in Send its mum, more boost! Of course, depends on your exhaust pressure.

    • I was back on the dyno again yesterday after completely revamping my methanol injection system. I was making 440kw at 19psi. Great, this is more then I was making last summer with my old meth system at that pressure, and I figured it would be smooth sailing up to 30+psi. We continued increasing from there and by 25psi, I had only hit 455kw. Dyno sadly lost utility power at this point and I left. We seemed to be on course to hit the same power wall as last summer (477kw@27psi). This is a built RB25 S1 stroked to a 2.8. Built and ported head with Kelford 272/262 cams. Precision 6466 Turbo. Tuner last year believed the power wall is a mix of RPM limitations (Hydro lifters/Limit set at 7600RPM) and fueling. With my new meth system, we're seeing zero knock now but it still won't go up.  What else can I do at this point? Here's my train of thought.  - It's clear from the dyno graph that I would easily make power to 8500+RPM but I'm limited to 7600RPM. I could risk increasing my limiter, but hydro lifters have me worried. What are my options here besides going NEO head or solid lifter conversion? I'm rocking a 1.05AR turbine on my 6466. Would dropping down to a .84 help shift that power down in anyway? - We're only seeing roughly a 30kw difference at the top end with VCT on or off. Is this normal? I want to confirm VCT is working properly. - Should I look into other cam options?  - Should I just keep increasing boost and see if she wakes up later on? I would expect to hit 600rwkw around 35psi with my 6466.
    • First thought is to use a ram mount (to hold the ipad) + windscreen suction mount. The arms on the ram mount can be as long as you like, should be able to position the ipad pretty well with that setup.
