who is this toshi guy?

does he have a workshop/website or does he work from home??

http://grapevine.com.au/~marzenna/

He's on the forum, just PM him (his name is Toshi on the forum as well). No workshop, but he has a wideband sensor and knock microphone....

^ hahah that rhymes.

Yea i thought that website mrkotter posted up didnt look familiar at all..

Plus the site looks old too..

Toshi, im going to get my car on the dyno tomorrow!!

I will send you a pm with my dyno figures..

If anyone else has any questions feel free to ask..

yes..

another think i'm abit worry..

how fast do u have to drive ur car for the tuning? are there any cops around? cause i don't wanna drive like 80/90kms in the 40 zone (don't have many points left lol). did u do it on the back road or highway..

i'm gonna get mine done next week.

cheers

Ford

I drove on the highway which is a 80 zone.

Few times you take it to redline in 2nd gear.. But you drive normally testing out each gear!!

Like 5th gear up the hill going at 80..

Once initial map is done and tuned, then you go to the freeway which is a 110 zone and test out third gear to nearly redline.

I did mine over double demerits, so you should be fine lol..

But yea be careful of cops..

hahah thanks drew!!

I know you recommened me this about an year ago!! lol

Well i was leaning towards the power fc and i did end up buying it.. But far out it costs soo much to tune and the power fc itself..

I saved myself 1.5k and the remap does the same thing (for stage 1 type mods anyways)

Edited by siddr20

he can remap with bigger turbos, but i guess power fc will be more effective to fine tune things..

But im not gonna go past stage1..

I was power hungry, but im planning to go europe end of year once uni is finally over!! So will need money for that lol

Then next year, start working full-time and save up for a better car plus house

Well got it on the dyno today..

196.2kw at 10psi

Theres something wrong with my 22dollar bleed valve lol..

I remember at the remap i was trying to increase it, but the guage just wouldnt go past 0.7 bar.

But the car felt a lot more powerful, so thought perhaps my 300dollar guage was faulty lol.. or a leak!!

Anyways on the dyno, it still showed boost at 10psi.

I reckon with 12psi it would be easily 200kw plus

But im happy with my results..

Nope :)

Might go back tomorrow and see if they can still print it out for me?

or perhaps do one run for me for free and check it. But they said it seemed fine.

They gave me another graph with Torque figures (Nm) on the side??

At 130kw, it read as 4500 - top peak

NO idea what that means!!

Edited by siddr20

yeh my dyno dynamics printouts read torque in newtons rather then foot/pound. Although maybe its just set that way.

anway it would be interesting to see how flat your afr's are

Looks like theres more left in that top end too

This is sounding like a hell of a good option for me lol... Only problem is I'm in ACT... Might have to organise a trip to Sydney.

How do you think it'd go on a 33 GTST with a front mount, cat back and a planned boost increase to 9-10psi?

    • The alloy coolant reservoir has a sight glass, so as long as I can see coolant in the sight glass it's GTG, as for PS, it isn't anything catastrophic if it gets low, and as it hasn't lost a drop since I have owned the car I cannot see it being an issue, even after putting the "big block" 2.5 in....LOL The only time it gets slightly messy is at oil changes, as the oil filter sits above the frame, and I need to use a plastic bottle with its bottom cut off to catch the flow when loosening the filter
    • Good on you for taking on the job, but it is a big one. Even if you have bolt on manifold and turbo, you will need: Post throttle pressure source to boost controller to wastegate (and FPR, and ECU/MAP sensor) Pre throttle pressure source to top of BOV(s) Oil feed - you can take that from the standard port in the middle of the block Oil return to block under the turbo - this is much trickier than it seems to route a decent/wide pipe past the manifold. You really can't use rubber hose because it is way too hot there, and also the oil out of the turbo core is a bit frothy so it needs to have a decent diameter Water feed - you can take that from the standard port in the rear of the block. Water return - mine runs to a T into the heater box return, just make sure you don't create a high point making bleeding hard. All of those lines should use 200 series style teflon braided hose with heat shielding because everything needs to be routed past the manifold. Also a turbo beanie is a really good idea to minimise the chance of the car catching fire (under bonnet lining in particular) You also need to decide a cam cover breathing solution as well, will you vent externally via a catch can (probably illegal) or return to the intake (plumbing required and can oil up everything over time) Keep in mind the intake and exhaust piping in the engine bay will be custom so you either need to be able to fab ally and steel or have someone you can get a car that isn't running to. Get the wideband fitting welded into the dump pipe at the same time. Also, just my opinion, a screamer pipe attracts attention and doesn't add power, I'd plumb it back if you want to be allowed to keep the car on the road. BTW do you know anything about how healthy the motor is, and what power you are targeting? Doubling or tripling the factory power on an unknown motor is a little risky. Also fuel system will need some attention (pumps, high current hanger, direct power and earth feed, injectors etc)
