Hey guys, my girlfriend and I decided last night on a spur of the moment whim we're going to Brisbane for the long weekend. We've basically got two a bit days to kill. We know we'll probably spend one day at Dreamworld, but otherwise we're completely open.

We're staying in the city, not Surfer's Paradise, and we won't have a car. We're also looking to head out Saturday (maybe Friday) night, so what are the best clubs?

Thanks heaps guys.

jojo's is good to start the night with dinner and drinks. youve got a choice of italian, thai and whatever else foodwize they have there. then pick a random pub, the vic seems to be popular but i dont like it coz it takes too long to get a drink at the bar (unless you have boobs). the union jack is good if you like ye olde english style pub, kinda smells funny though. the sports bar in the casino is good for cheap drinks. the dockside comedy club is good too but i think you have to book a table there (eat before you go though, the food is the equivalent of paying $40 for a dominos pizza). everywhere else i've been was really blurry so not too sure :D if you're after techno crankin, pill poppin night clubs then i havent got a clue. im sure others have more of an idea as ive only been out in brisbane the last few weekends.

I would steer clear of the Vic its usually full of melters, Head to the Valley in my opinion

What sort of night life you into / type of music then we can prolly give you a good answer as to where to go

Dance music mostly, nothing too hard though. Don't mind heading to one of the more expensive clubs, we are on holiday after all.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

Eagle Street Pier in Brisbane has lots of dinner options.

I recommend Il Centro for fantastic modern australian food (but at a price). Or Cha Cha Char at the same venue for a decent grill/steak bar.

I agree with Dano. Head to Fortitude Valley... Lots of great pubs and clubs there. I recommend Press Club for an awesome venue (bar) to sit back, chill out on comfy couches and consume more alcohol than you probably should.

Family nightclub is nearby in case you wanted something a little more energetic.

cha cha cha is a nice steak restuarant.. depending on your taste should pm me your taste and ill answer too it,

infact do u mind pming me.. lol ill answer to that or i could just post here just im at work ahha and yea ;)

LOL!!!!!

Bars to go to-

Glass Bar

Press Club

Lychee Lounge

Places for food-

Cha Cha Char (city)

Blue Smoke (Valley)

Lunar Lounge (valley, also a bar)

Purple Olive (valley)

Onyx (Park Road, Milton)

London Club (Tennerife, also a bar)

Alchemy (City, hope you wallet is full)

Not too sure about where to eat but i know the club scene pretty well. If you like cheaper places that are usually more packed, head to the city. The Stock Exchange (Stocky) is small n busy with house playing, decent happy hours. The Vic, across the road is decent, generally a little quiter, good happy hours. Has some house playing upstairs, kareoke downstairs, and a beer garden with live music outside. Union Jack (U. Jays) is nearby, old english pub feel, will have sport playing earler, then a Dj playing house later in the night. Stay away from the paddington hotel, just too busy and expensive. The more classier places, ironically are in the valley which generally isnt classy. :D Family is the big number there. Saturday nights there generally have big Djs, possibly internation acts, playing in the basement. Usually its some heavier techno down there. It was awarded best sound system in the southern hemisphere so you cant go wrong if you like it loud. $10 cover charge before 10pm, $20 after. Theres also house and trance playing in two more seperate areas upstairs. (its got a bar made of ice its cool) Theres numerous other clubs all across the valley. Head to the far end of it for the GPO if you like guys with spiked up hair and girls with nearly no clothes on. A plus and a minus there. If you dont mind being around gay guys for cheap drinks theres The Beat, just dont go upstairs. Theres a new big club there too called The Met, it has a House hall, drum n bass room, techno playing across the place, usually hard to get into tho. Theres more but theses are the main points across the place. Sorry for the long post but its about time all those nights and money spent could benefit someone else :D

    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
