Mclarens just announced that all drivers will remain for 04. Hope DC proves me wrong (PLEASE!!).

Rubens will stay so no change for Ferrari.

Montoya has reportedly signed a not so "secret" deal with Mclarens for 05. I think this rumour will be hotly debated.

JV is struggling to stick around. Someone from BAR may have to make way for Sato and JV's head is looking good.

Renault are also keeping JT and FA. Good combination there.

Massa and Fisi maybe at Sauber next year. Either way I think one of these will one day be asked to fill in the big shoes of schuey when he hangs up his helmet.

Just reading F1 mag and it's very interesting the telemetry of Schuey and Rubens. Schuey like to use left foot braking while Rubens doesn't. At Silverstone, from the corner Copse to Becketts, Schuey is 20km/h (0.15sec) faster out of Copse and when exiting Becketts, has a 25km/h (0.2 sec) lean on Rubens.

I'm amazed that rubens doesnt left foot brake - how does he compete at that level without! In touring cars, the only reason not to use left foot is the clutch, f1 and some race boxes dont need clutch so no other job for the left foot.....

I beileve, and I'm trying to remember stuff from when Rubens first started at Ferrari that the reason he doesn't left foot brake is he actually (or maybe used to) use the clutch in some corners...It was some werid reason like that.

I remember it becuase they had to make some changes to accomodate it, and they where discussing it one race a year or so ago.....

3 Races to go.......................GO SCHUMACHER/FERRARI!

I swear to God, Channel 10 BETTER show the Jap GP live if its going to be a Championship deciding Race!!!

I swear to God, Channel 10 BETTER show the Jap GP live if its going to be a Championship deciding Race!!! [/b]

lets hope so, let hope that Ferrari and Bridgestone get thier car and tyres together before this next race cause if they continue like the last 6 races or so the championship is over.

  • 2 weeks later...

Down with those red cars, i use to be a fan in the Mansell/Prost etc etc days, but not now.

After the Damon Hill, Jacques incidents i have put a bounty on his head. I loved when he put it into the wall (after i realised he was ok) at Silverstone and broke his leg...

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
