either the motor drive to shut the valve is stuffed or the valve is stuck, With mine I turned the temp up & down for about a week when it did the same, works fine now and I do it every now and then just to keep it loose.

got the same problem, i thought it might b cause i havent got a aircon in mine anymore so was going to see about getting it blocked up by my mechanic but will definatley turn it up and down first to try close the vent.

if you still got the aircon then my first guess was wrong lol, if so let me know thanks.

peace

got it in my 33 aswell, and my thermostat seems to be out. I can stop air coming through it yough if you press the button which changes the way the air comes in the cabin (the butting with the bent arrow in a car, next to the A/C button) if you have it so the light is on I found it at least stopped the air from coming in.

Turn your aircon on, set it to the coldest temp, turn it off...

The vents open/close somewhere in the middle, 22 degrees is the changeover point I think...

That should fix your problem, otherwise you have a serious malfunction...

i get that all the time hot air .... u can stop it from going hot air by pressing mode and turning the temp down and then pressing OFF it then turns off and goes back to ur feet but this time its cold air...

you guys are champs!!.... i didnt know that its was automatically air comin through.... so just recirc it.... hehehe.... i was gonna say that it turns of if you dont choose that settin but...all good...cheers guys..... how low can people get there air cons/?... coz mine only goes to 18..or is that normal??

cheers

    • It's almost certainly a reluctor generating an "AC" waveform. No, ECUs don't generally read those - they're usually set up for PWM square wave 0-5v stuff.
    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
