would that add pass australian car advertising laws?

Pretty sure some female activists would get together and get the add banned saying its sexist to women portraying them as going after guys with nice cars.........cause that doesn't ever happen......

Audi over Lambo? :D ok...

Lambo has a rather short sports motoring history... Audi has um... virtually none :)

??? Ummmm, ever heard of the Audi Quattro? The car that dominated world rally and brought 4 wheel drive systems into the limelight.

Not to mention Le Mans and DTM racing. Didnt Audi win the Le mans proto race with their new deisel engine?

Audi are a big name in motorsport.

Not to mention that Audi, VW, Bentley and Lambo are all owned by the same company, along with Skoda and a few others from memory.

RALLY not F1.

Besides, we are talking about the R8 here, a newcomer.

I didnt realise that "Sports Motoring History" was an F1 exclusive comment? Im pretty sure Le Mans and DTM count for something as well. Having a car hold together for 24 hours of wide open throttle and to a budget cap i would say is pretty impressive. Design cues and innovations are more likely to filter down to actual road cars from Le Mans than from F1 also.

The R8 was based off the gallardo chassis originally and it sports the awesome V8 engine found in the RS4 that has proven itself to be quite an amazing piece of kit. Not to mention that Lambo only really became a practical and quality brand since Audi took over and instilled some quality to go with the Italian flare.

Ah f**k it. Ive gotta say something. VW OWNS Audi OWNS Lambo. Lamborghini were going bankrupt and VW bailed them out and started with a new slate, there in filling the void in their luxury sport category branch of their automotive tree. Lambo is exotic and VW saw plenty of value in that - its not every day when youre a massive automotive conglomerate rolling in money and suddenly find an opening into one of the most passionate and lucrative automotive sectors...

Modern day Lambos are amongst the top sports cars in the world.

I think its fabulous. You have all the engineering integrity from a German manufacturer mated to the flair and passion of Italian design.

Anyone who thinks Lambo has lost it's soul will be spoken to - Lamborgini is alive and well because of VW.

Also, anyone who thinks they'd take an Audi over a Lambo needs to be checked in. Just the mention of the brand and the decision is made. Audi design is great and all...but...well, Audi is not Lambo, FFS, and will never be. That is why, again, VW bought Lambo.

Having said that, Lamborghini was in F1 will almost no success. Audi on the other hand has already been spoken for. Lamborghini will always be the pick for a street driver but Audi knows more about the track. The thing thats funniest is, they feed off each other so both levels of input go into the car.

The net result? Its a tie..

But i would take the Lambo badge over an Audi badge - EVERY SINGLE TIME.

nicer at the back than the original Gallardo, but a touch fussy at the front. don't really rate the wheels, but that's easy enough to change

not a chance- it shows a car doing illegal things on public streets (drifting, speeding, crossing un-broken double lines)

Nice ad, nice car (though imo italian cars are butt ugly). Would have an R35 over it any day >_>

Are you serious? R35 GTR is a piece of art machine as far as technologygoes, but surely it can't rival the gorgeous lines of Ferraris and Lambos!

For track Id go GTR, for pure prestige and the name Id go with the Italians any day.

    • I've got a 2011 J50 that I imported six years ago. The unmodified factory AV system date and time has always been correct ( Japanese timezone of course ) up until last month. About two weeks ago, at engine start, the system wished me a happy new year ( in Japanese of course ). I can't think of anything that would make the system think that the date had changed, unless the GPS component has failed/reset somehow ? I checked the GPS reception in the system settings, and it can still see the satellites. Has any other J50 owner had this happen ?  It's no biggie, just annoying that it tells me the wrong date anytime I start the engine. 😅
    • Love following your adventures on IG, hopefully if you're still around in Japan when we visit again wouldn't mind going for a few beers with you (that's if you're keen on hearing how I hate Nissans).
    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
