lol so it's not an RH9 car.

lets put this into perspective...

there is only a handful of us in the country to go sub 10 in a GTR on radials....if it was easy and cheap to do their would be a lot more.

the pre track talk was "it will run a few 9's then it will be turned up to try for an 8"

i nearly fell off my seat! I know John personally and have a lot of respect for him and his car, but its just not that simple. Many factors need to be addressed before 9's let alone 8's are a reality with any car, let alone an 1100hp GTR.

Im sure John will run a 9 soon and i hope he gets rid of the slicks and runs it on radials.

RH9 = Record Holders 9 seconds GTR

RH9 is a tuning shop club (for shops that have made and run 9secs in a GT-R) or faster.

Every few months the bosses of all RH9 shops meet, and discuss the next direction of tuning.....basically keeping it alive as best as possible.

So your engine would more than likely mean it has been overhauld/tuned by an RH9 member shop.

RH9 do have parts made (group decision to come up with ideas) we have a meeting this month (tokyo) to discuss new parts.

Currently new parts are high output alternator, and also high powered starter motor for the race RB26s (where compression is changed)

Hope that helps.....

All you want answered regarding the meaning of "RH9" and more can be found here:

he called it rh9 because that was his aim right from the start....

as has been stated it had the power so the rest should eventually follow...

and gtr700 revs to a good 13500ish by memory

i believe ur not in the RH9 club until uve done it. otherwise, ill sign up right now!!

its my aim as well.. so should it include me also?? i do have all the goodies

i think it should only include those who have actually done it.. and having the power doesnt mean u will do it.

i had a mystery envelope in my race bag for a couple of years titled "do not open till you run a 9"

the night i ran my 1st 9 sec pass i opened it...what did it contain?...

two RH9 club member stickers...nice hey

i immediately stuck them on the cars rear 1/4 windows

Seems the rage for people from SYD... that is to call their cars RH9 etc before they run the time

Was a similar car years ago @ Heathcote, SYD also (surprise), didn't run a 9 either.

To claim something you don't have especially with that kind of prestige is fairly homo.

i saw rh9 at autosalon-melbourne i couldnt believed how cleanly it revved id never saw or heard a big hp gtr before, i pitched a tent and proceeded to the toilets in a timely matter i must admit the noise stayed with me for a few days...awesome

who says you need a v8 to create an awesome soundtrack

    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow
    • Good luck on the weekend mate
    • Must have been an absolute nightmare to drive when the power steer was out, the rack ratio/wheel size/caster is all set up for power assistance
    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
