missV35...wow, "there's a ladeey in da house" sings me~~~~

SKiZO....twins? hahaha...unless you are Asian, I highly doubt it man...Yeah, I noticed ur V35 was dark blue and a sedan~~!!! Not many of these dark blue sedans in Melb...in fact, I have not seen another V35 on the road until the Meet yesterday....I've got quite a few bling blings on mine...just to make it 'special'....but then again, who am I kidding? The Mrs says "ur next car must be 4 doors, no turbo, and auto"....hence the purchase of V35 sedan..."cry cry cry"....

Unique things to highlight from our meet:

Only 1 car has original orange indicator (mine)

Only 1 car has rear windscreen wiper/rear camera (siu loong bao's)

Only 1 coupe has original 18" rim

Only 1 car has rear aero spoiler

Only 1 car has sunroof (V35Sky's)

Only 1 car has factory weather shield on the window (V35 300GT)

Only 1 pair of badgless bootlid (yeah, I'm running out of idea)

Added: Probably the best of them all... 1 40th Anniversary coupe with cream interior/full leather was "downgraded" to regular premium with half suede leather/black interior. Sorry to the owner but I just can't help it... :)

LOL yeh thanks for reminding me!

I didn't know it was the 40th anniversary addition!!! didn't know what I was looking for! All I wanted was black interior....

Oh bummer....if I'd only known....

There is someone on the forum that has my interior now.

There is someone on the forum that has my interior now.

We can get it back if you want

It was great to meet up with all you guys. Good to see we had a few turn up for the inaugural Melb V35 Meet :D

Got to see what everyone had done before experimenting on my own car :)

Had to put the heater on full after I got it.. It was so f**ckn cold! Hopefully we can go for a cruise soon when we get some sunny days.

BenzLe...

And you thought I was gonna post that comment! I kept my mouth shut, but rs73 went and told everyone how silly you were...LOL...

Once I get my 2 x HID kits, halo kit, and frosted parkers, I am gonna bake my headlights and once the technique has been perfected, we can all have the baking day....hehehe. Any interest for my factory HID?

Hey everyone ;)

Guess what colour my car is? ...... SILVER lol most of the V35 skylines ive noticed are silver !

It is a 2 Door coupe, very beautifull car inside and out :(

100% the next meet i will be coming.

rs73 - i have the orange indicators aswell

:(

Hi everyone,

Sorry i missed the meet... work commitments. Although my work has provided me with the neccessary funds to buy my fantastic V35 so i'm not that upset.

I will also fess up to still having the orange indicators. A few more and we might outnumber the "clearies".

I'll definitely be at the next one though and it looks like i'll be the only one with a 70th Anniversary model that still has the cream interior. ;) Sorry BenzLe!

LOL I think BenzLe will not be coming to the next meet!!! ;)

Hey guys how are you all doing?

Time for the second Melbourne meet? Perhaps a cruise? The weather is certainly a lot better now, it is a sunny 26 degrees outside as I write this message now!!

I was thinking about a meet at a hand car wash where I have some personal interest, we could meet up in the morning, get our V's nice and shiny whilst sipping on a nice latte and having a chat.....and then go for a cruise.

The deal is, we could get a deluxe car wash for half price (usually $30) and a free coffee for everyone. If you are not interested in having your V washed, you don't have to of course, you could meet us later or meet us there and just have a coffee with us.

Obviously the hardest point would be to find a suitable time for everyone to meet so I will set a time a few weeks into the future and we'll start planning it to see how we go.

So details as follows:

Date: Saturday 5th of December

Time: 10:00am

Place: Blue Water Hand Car Wash, 468 Mt Alexander Road, Ascot Vale

Cruise: Travel to St Kilda (via Lygon Street) and cruise down Beach Road to Mordialloc. (Just an idea)

Any takers?

LOL, we should be alright, there are plenty of hands on board, however I am not expecting 50 participants, I would suggest a great number would be 10 to 15, don't think we will get many more than that.

We got 7 to our first meet!!!

    • My thinking is that if the O2 sensor is shot then your entire above described experience is pure placebo.
    • Here is the mess that I made. That filler there was successful in filling dents in that area. But in the middle area. I can feel dents. And I've gone ocer it multiple times with filler. And the filler is no longer there because i accidently sanded it away. I've chased my tail on this job but this is something else lol. So I'm gonna attempt filler one more time and if it doesn't work I'll just high fill primer the door and see where the issues are because guidecoat is of no use atm.
    • Ok, so I think I sort of figured out where I went wrong. So I definitely overthinked it, and I over sanded, which is probably a large part of the problem. to fix it, I ended up tapping some spots that were likely to be high, made them low, filled them in, and I tackled small sections at a time, and it feels a lot better.    I think what confused me as well is you have the bare metal, and some spots darker and some are lighter, and when I run my finger across it, it' would feel like it's a low spot, but I think it's just a transition in different texture from metal to body filler.    When your finger's sliding on the body filler, and crosses over to the bare metal, going back and forth, it feels like it's a low spot. So I kept putting filler there and sanding, but I think it was just a transition in texture, nothing to do with the low or high spot. But the panel's feels a lot better, and I'm just going to end up priming it, and then I'll block it after with guide coat.   Ended up wasting just about all of my filler on this damn door lol
    • -10 is plenty for running to an oil cooler. When you look at oil feeds, like power steering feeds, they're much smaller, and then just a larger hose size to move volume in less pressure. No need for -12. Even on the race cars, like Duncans, and endurance cars, most of them are all running -10 and everything works perfectly fine, temps are under control, and there's no restrictions.
    • Update: O2 sensor in my downpipe turned out to be faulty when I plugged in to the Haltech software. Was getting a "open circuit" warning. Tons of carbon buildup on it, probably from when I was running rich for a while before getting it corrected. Replaced with new unit and test drove again. The shuffle still happens, albeit far less now. I am not able to replicate it as reliably and it no longer happens at the same RPM levels as before. The only time I was able to hear it was in 5th going uphill and another time in 5th where there was no noticeable incline but applying more throttle first sped it up and then cleared it. Then once in 4th when I slightly lifted the throttle going over a bump but cleared right after. My understanding is that with the O2 sensor out, the ECU relies entirely on the MAP tune and isn't able to make its small adjustments based on the sensors reading. All in all, a big improvement, though not the silver bullet. Will try validating the actuators are set up correctly, and potentially setting up shop time to tune the boost controller on closed loop rather than the open loop it is set to now. Think if it's set up on closed loop to take the O2 reading, that should deal with these last bits. Will try to update again as I go.
