No. Excessive camber just looks f**king stupid. Stop pretending its cool.

tell that to race cars. oh no i might get camber wear on my tyres!!

the camber it runs is for practical reasons, it's only really noticeable compared to other track cars due to the fact you can actually see the wheels poking outside the guard and they aren't sunken to shit, also the way the guard tapers in towards the bottom exaggerates the look of camber.

but thanks for your input, it's not like i have any experience setting up car's suspension, so this was helpful...

Fknlol I havn't been on SAU in months and Dohmar is still adding his uneducated (but he thinks he is extremely educated) bullshit replys. Anywho nice to see nothing has changed.

Different people have different opinions - I don't see it's any reason to get upset or start slinging insults around.

Some people don't see a point in the 'stance' or 'big camber' movement, whilst others love it. At the end of the day, it's just a thing of personal taste - though I can see how Dohmar's reply could be seen as a criticism or personal attack.

it isn't demon camber which is a cosmetic statement, it's a decent amount of camber for a drift car which uses the setting for practical reasons.

I apologise if I thought the camber on that vehicle was purely cosmetic - the stylisation of the picture, and the context of a car in Japan - I think it's a pretty easy mistake to make - especially given the lack of information provided about the vehicle. To my mind, this simply looked like a car in Japan that nisskid liked that was part of the camber/stance scene in Japan (that I understand to be quite popular, based on magazines/online articles I've read). Personally, I think that - in the right context - the stance/high-camber look is pretty sweet for purely cosmetic reasons - though it wouldn't pass muster in Australia due to police. But as I said in my earlier comment - to each their own.

Either way, it seems as though you guys are more familiar with the car - and that it has a purpose in this instance. Obviously cars that are used in drifting tend to use large amounts of camber. Any more information on it available?

there's not heaps to it, i bought it in 2010, with just coilovers and a mechanical diff, and performance wise it hasn't really changed as the car is a work horse, it not only drifts, it also has seen a lot of road trips across japan, and at near on $1.80-1.90 a litre over there, it's gotta be fuel efficient haha. i have drifted the car in a few competitions, a whole lot more events, and the stock rb20 does a great job. the body work was done last year, and it now runs modified knuckles up front a long with cut and shut lca's for additional clearance and camber. the wheels are 15x9 -45 and 15x8 -40 with 195/50's all round, it's designed to look good, but it doesn't get princessed around, it gets thrashed pretty hard and has the scars to show for it.

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
