Badged!

Hey guys

i was just wondering if anyone knows if it is difficult to install the rear boot lock??

as mentioned some shmuck helped themselves to my badges.

I have a "96" r33 gtst and the rear badge as you all probably know covers the lock,

which they took as well.

also can they open the boot easily now?? i have an alarm that will go off if they do but i'd prefer to keep

people out the old fashion lock and key way.

when i change the lock can i change the internals to fit my key or am i destined to roam the streets with

two sets??

lol... i'm guessing they ripped the swivelling badge off your boot lock right? how does that make it any easier for them to break into your boot? LOL.. when all it does is cover the boot lock.

imo i'd leave it.. my bet is you'll go through the hassle of changing everything

then the same punks will laugh and come and badge it again...

with the new lock take it and a spare key or ur main 1 to a locksmith and ask them 2 code the lock 2 the key.

they took the entire lock mechanism and theres a big gaping hole in my boot lid!!!! i'll have to do something about that!!!! lol

I'm doing this too - whilst getting my d wing installed and whole boot resprayed.

Mine didnt get badged, it actually snapped off one day when i went to open the boot up and chuck come groceries in

So atm im left with the bare boot lock/keyhole. It looks ugly and unfinished without the swivel badge...

As above, get a alarm installed to install a pop button for your alarm and it will open with a solinoid.

to install the boot lock is pretty easy mate just push it into the hole and there should be a slide to go in too that holds it in place, not much to it really. but as said id deffo go for the debadged look and im on the look out for a carbon bootlid that will allow it

i just bought a lock and hopefully get it next week.

that clip must be the thing rattling around in my boot lid.

if i dont like the look i might weld it up.

i dont understand the alarm part? i have a mongoose m80. is that an optioon with the alarm???

My R33-S2 came with a "well, it looks like someone wanted to steal the badge" look so i replaced it with a S1 version. The lock internals can be removed and installed to the new lock holder as it's only clipped by "C" clips so my main keys can still work with the replacement trunk lock.
