Eoi: High Performance Driving Course

Ok guys, let me first say this... I know that these types of things have been in planning many times before and nothing ever eventuates but hey, I'll have a shot at it anyways...

Having done the John Bowe Driving course last year in November with the SASupra club I first hand know that anyone that wants to participate will have an awesome time. My idea is to do pretty much what the SASupra club did and book out one of the "high performance" driving days out at Mallala. Basically it's a track day when all is boiled down but with the added bonus of instructors out there with you. They not only sit in your car giving you pointers/tips but if you allow them, they take over the reigns (your car ) and show you just what they can do and how you can better yourself. Of course they are not in the car every single lap, they sit in probably 2-3 laps every 1/2-3/4 of an hour or so. If you don't want/need them however you are free to keep cutting laps.

It's not cheap at around $400 but that includes lunch/drinks for the day, you day license for the track and a certificate at the end. If there's some real interest I'll post up more concrete figures and the sort of numbers we'd need to get for a booking (aim for the 20 mark) If there are any questions please feel free to shoot them my way or even visit the website here

I understand that this might not be everyone's cup of tea but I can only speak from my experience and that is that I had an awesome time (despite blowing my turbo in the last hour of the day) It won't be any time soon and judging by the course dates on the website the 20th of November is the closest date for us until next year...

No drifting! However they do teach the following...

Correct lines for high speed cornering.

How to make faster and smoother gear changes - both up and down.

Not to 'overdrive' and its relationship to lap times.

How to make a circuit flow by correct use of vision to link corners.

Skid control techniques and myths.

How to get the most out of your car.

Well worth it IMO

Hell. Yes.

I know its $400 but its worth it if I can get tips. Just give me enuff notice, cause the next month I'm more broke than an ethiopian flea herder due to the gearbox replacement...

It won't be for a few months yet buddy and depending on interest or not also... It's no skin off my nose if it doesn't take off because I'm going again this year with the SASupra club. I just thought it might be nice to do something like this as a club with familiar faces

I'll start a list in the first post on people who are interested... if we get the needed numbers I'll call up and see where we go from there.
