i was thinking of a getz myself.

i used to work at hyundai, they are a good car in general.

just keep your eye on your rear wheel cylenders as they tend to leak.

also some were prone to have a knock from the rear brake. they are very tempremental with handbrake adjustment.

Barina is also $14990 drive away these days.

well if you're looking into things as gheyz as getz etc, might as well go the whole handbag.

Its not for me...Im saving up for a current shape corolla ascent :)

Barina is a Holden... I am sceptical as how long it will be till the crap starts falling off. Actually I dont want another Ford or Holden, period.

The Getz is POS.

We have one as an emergency car, i drive it when i cant afford petrol for my r32

Full of cheap plastic, vibrates on idle, loves to understeer, automatic isnt responsive. It jumps to a lower gear for no reason and makes a lot of noise but still doesnt move anywhere.

Isnt even fuel efficient, manual says like 6lts/100km. Ours averages like 8~

Ours is the first model to come out, so it could be much better in the newer models.

However it does save me petrol money :D

If you buy a manual 1.5L they are good. They did win Australias best small car 2 years in a row. I mean we all know its a little dodgy that awards system, but they have all the kit, engine, ac, abs, airbags etc. Good for a run about. But really its not worth it if your keeping the skyline. $15k is a lot of petrol.

Getz is crap.. Honestly dont buy it .. Its cheap, seats are crap, and it seems to fall apart.

I do have an Accent which is very good, its a 97 and goes hard for a 1.6 litre it spins first and second so pretty ballsy. Olds have a Elantra too $20,000 new which is cheap as chips for a new car with electric everything and onroads + insurance. Its very comfortable.

Id prob go for the accent for a good reliable car. cheap to run, I fly around with it on empty for a good 3 days.. fill up when the light turns on.

I passed my driving test in a Getz (driving instructor's car, since my old VN probably won't pass the safety check.)

As a car to get from point A to B & back to A, it does the job, anything else... don't expect much.

& being a hatch & small its easy to park, about the only things I can think off.

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
