Hi,

Went to have a quick look over car today & noticed the radiator was full but the overflow bottle had no coolant in it at all - bone dry. Wierd because it hasnt be losing coolant underneath etc & the mechanic servied it like 2000 km ago so I hadn't bothered to check.

There was a bit of brown gunk under the radiator cap when i looked too.

However, the temp guage has not been up and just driving to work & back.

Any chance of damage?

Cheers,

Pen

just make sure the radiator is still full. top it up at the radiator first and then fill the overflow.

i assume if its not leaking it just wasnt bled properly when refilled. i wouldnt bother doing anything more than filling it again and see what happens.

if its not actually leaking, there probably isnt anything sinister. unless that brown gunk is the hole-filling crap

Yep, would have had a bit of air in the system and when it started evaporating the radiator sucked through some extra coolant from the overflow bottle. Just top her up a bit again and all should be fine.
