I Got An Iphone...i Got An Iphone Today Hooray!

Recommended Posts

So who else lined up this morning?

I went to northland and the optus store there had sold out at 8am, and telechoice said they were ony giving them to people who had pre-paid....(fags!)

So went to Greensborough and lined up for an hour to get one from optus. Got the second last one and the NAC went down so they couldn't sign me up, need to wait for it now :) hopefully this afternoon.

One of my mates was in the city and he said the line there was 80-100 people long!

I hope it brings you happyness.

Why thank you, i'm sure it will :)

Dunno bout the speaker haven't got it yet, it's sitting at the store waiting till they can do a credit check.

The american 2G ones will work here as long as they have been hacked, a friend of mine has had one for ages, dunno what the go with the 3G ones is

I have been looking at the first gen ones over here at San Francisco, New York and now Vegas. They are fun and due to the time difference, they come out here in a few hours. From the research I have done, the ones in the US (3G ones not the 1st Gen), won't currently work back in Oz. There is also no prepaid one available here at launch unlike Oz. I am sure someone will get around it like the first one but it seems you have to provide a social security number and sign up to an AT&T (the provider here) plan when you buy it.

Price wise, it isnt much different to Oz so little to gain.

For those interested, this is on the Heraldsun site with regards to plans as an insight.

They have heaps of cases and accessories for them here so have bought a funky case that has a sucker to stick on the window for the GPS. G/f has bought a Paul Frank case that looks like a wallet.

iphone are shit, my n95 shits all over an iphone

Explain to me why...remember my requirements for a phone might be different from yours so saying it has this and that which the iphone doesn't is pointless....

Not sure about the bluetooth....I don't think so though.....

i agree, i dont see why they are so exciting

i had friends showing me the units about 3 months ago

and its just a phone with some other junk

im sure you guys enjoy it, but its a lotta hype

Hype yes, but hype or no hype people want it. It depends on what you want from a phone doesn't it.

The fact is the iPhone is huge, it's changed the way phones are designed now, you only need to look at the other teco's playing catch up. The HTC is a perfect example as nice as it is. Functioanlity is where it's at though and I'm sure there are better phone that the iPhone.

Each to their own :)

i had the iphone for about a month before i sold it

you cant send MMS like normal you have to send it via email so you get charged big bucks for it yes you can get 3rd party software to do so but then you can not view the items sent to you it only has a 2mp cam shit my old n73 has 3mp

having owned the n95 i would say it a better phone for features but the iphone has a better design now if only they could join them both up

it will be good to see how many iphones go up for sale now on ebay and 2nd hand after people get sick of the hype

Well not going into what it does and doesnt have, personally I own an ipod why would I want another hybrid with a phone, it's stupid and hardly practical

The new N96 got voted the best up-coming phone that'll be released this year

It's blown the whole ipod craze thing out of proportion, and as its losing interest they have to market it a different way to keep people interested...

I stand by the fact that no matter how much functionality you build into a phone, without a decent size display and a GOOD way to manipulate the data and input info they are fckn useless. These pissy little keyboards just suck.

Don't know much about the N96, will sus it out. I've always had Nokia's, the only thing that shits me about then is the fact that EVERY one I've had crashes, the firmware is so buggy!

Edit - Just checked it out - http://www.cnet.com.au/mobilephones/phones...earch?source=ig

Nice features and a big screen but no way to input data apart from the Numeric pad, just SO sucky :)

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
