Cars=Empty Wallet :bunny:

Im looking at getting one, but not sure who to go with Telstra, Optus, Vodaphone

So far optus seams to be the best deal, But i always have been with telstra.

Plus i wanna keep my number  lol

I cant wait to get my iphone. I think the main reason people don't like the Iphone is because they just don't understand how good it is and how much potential it has. Im buying it because I enjoy coding and making my own programs so I wanna try out the SDK (Software Development Kit) that comes with the iphone. Don't forget all the other third party software companies that will be developing software for the iphone. In a years time you will be able to do everything on your iphone. 2mp camera doesnt bother me because i dont take a whole lot of photos with my camera on my current phone.

If you think its just hype you need to have a read of what this phone is capable of and you will understand :bunny: n95 doesnt even come close...

I believe the N96 will be better too, it uses the Symbian OS (already in use with the N95) which is open source that allows people to write Apps for as well. There are already a whole heap of add ons like viewing office/pdf documents, video viewers, email and IM clients, etc. You can buy an extra battery (iPhone has to be sent away) at most phone shops. The 16GB with an 8GB SD micro should also be enough for most people to replace their ipods and maybe even video iPods with an MP4 player.

I currently have an ZZZ custom phone (symbian OS) and hate the touch screen, so the N96 will definitely be the choice for me, just wish they would give a release date.

its funny how everyone complains about struggling to afford mortgage repayments, yet you see them lining up to buy an iPhone.

not having a go at you guys, but when i went to the shops today, many locals lined up, who had a cry that they couldnt keep up with payments, i wonder why...

Sorry, it p#sses me off, just letting off a bit of steam.

$200 on a 24 months contract.

So its not free, you still have to be on a contract of $50 a month or whatever.

Pretty sure out right it is :D , must be grand opening special.

I still remember the FIRST Iphone grand opening in Beverly Hill .The line was just shocking, the weather was hot that ...............the chicks dressed to kill :) , we got given Iphone Umbrella (crap).

Haha, I was saying something similar the other day. Not really specific to the iPhone, but about how most of the people that complain about that stuff have 2 newish cars, a decent house, and in most cases a decent income that gets pissed up the wall on luxuries, which are usually on finance too!

But, I should get back on topic lol.

Is there any rumours about when the 32gb version will be released? Hopefully it comes out around the time I have the money saved up lol.

until australia's gaybo data rates drop, AND carriers other than telstra get real high speed data rates, owning the new iphone is kinda pointless... you might as well own the old iphone. unless you enjoy surfin the interwebs on your iphone while only in the vicinity of wifi hotspots which you can access.

khunjeng - Blah blah blah lol, each to their own. Some ppl just apprciate technology more than others

Shane666 - if you have to finance something, other than a house, then you can't affod it, full stop. It's common sense. Me, I have no credit cards :)

on mine now. Optus is the best value. I stuck with vodafone tho. Longtime apple used here, most people don't understand them, but will in time. It does everything I would need from a laptop, so a saving there. The 199 was for existing us AT&T customers. Thhree will have em on mad plans in good time :)

Check out the mac rumors forum for unlocking hacks etc.

This is more than a phone, and more potential than a blackberry.

Give it 12m onthS for original plan customers to need new ones and there will be another revision. Gps needs turn by turn voice, and Bluetooth doesn't pair with phones due to apples stance on copyprotection.

Enjoy.

Ryan

So much misinformation in here by people who don't know shit :D

iPhone is great. Don't think of it as a phone, think of it as an iPod which can sms and make phone calls.

Best thing about it is it's internet connectivity. Nothing else comes close. The web browser in it is the first time browsing the web while out and about is actually usable! I had windows mobile phones before this, and they were good, but the web browsing was usless.

The interface on the iPhone is second to none. Windows mobile is still based on using a stylus, tiny start menu buttons, and a laggy interface.

The iPhone DOES have bluetooth, but it's only able to be used with handsfree kits/earpeices. Limit put in place by apple for some reason.

MMS is shit, it's a way for carriers to charge stupid amounts of money to send a picture. Much better to use email, once all the other phones catch up and can use email as well as the iPhone.

Ohh and anyone who thinks the iPhone was/is $199USD outright, come here, i'm going to punch you in the head for being retarded.

    • If as it's stalling, the fuel pressure rises, it's saying there's less vacuum in the intake manifold. This is pretty typical of an engine that is slowing down.   While typically is agree it sounds fuel related, it really sounds fuel/air mixture related. Since the whole system has been refurbished, including injectors, pump, etc, it's likely we've altered how well the system is delivering fuel. If someone before you has messed with the IACV because it needed fiddling with as the fuel system was dieing out, we need to readjust it back. Getting things back to factory spec everywhere, is what's going to help the entire system. So if it idles at 400rpm with no IACV, that needs raising. Getting factory air flow back to normal will help us get everything back in spec, and likely help chase down any other issues. Back on IACV, if the base idle (no IACV plugged in) is too far out, it's a lot harder for the ECU to control idle. The IACV duty cycle causes non linear variations in reality. When I've tuned the idle valves in the past, you need to keep it in a relatively narrow window on aftermarket ecus to stop them doing wild dances. It also means if your base idle is too low, the valve needs to open too much, and then the smallest % change ends up being a huge variation.
    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
