i think the "type r" updates the the lambo have done wonders for it? Did White Hot or SupaLoc racing homoligate the changes?

Probably. I know SupaLoc are trying to incorperate crumped front ends into the changes now as well.

Actually whilst Week's latest effort will still probably cost more than all of our cars on here to fix - it looks like he's got away damn lucky as the chasis rails and all the suspension components seem to be ok.

Brilliant to see Dan on the podium - I have a choice photo of Dan & his champagne which I'll have to post later on (unless a suitable bribe comes my way today)

I dont remember it being too incriminating... :)

Looking at our pace, we were just under .5sec/km slower than the Early Modern winning 996 Turbo so over 200 competitive that left us trailing by 87 seconds. Maybe next time on softer tyres (we weren't on Ms) and with a few subtle tweaks to the suspension settings we will be able to ride the bumps better and show a little more pace :)

Bring on Lake Mountain :P

I know Weeks binned it but haven't seen pics. Was it the same old car repaired or a new one?

And yeah, the Type R spec has transformed the Lambos, and they're actually getting the power you'd expect from them now too.

It was certainly a real mess (the '09 car), but it takes a lot to "write off" a vehicle of that value...... Like, YT bent his like a banana in 2006 after his big jump over a culvert drain (the extruded alloy chassis rails between the passengers and the engine) and it was repaired fine.

The offending valve that just came out of YT's engine....... definately would have caused a drama. lol

I was chatting to him before the presentations and he mentioned the need to change how he drove the raging bull. Instead of relying on teh powah to pull him down the straights, he was finding the need to try and carry more corner speed. How that is possible...I don't know :P

Anyone heard any more re that pic of Jones runnin that epic cut?

There weren't any corners listed as having a penalty for cutting this year, so I doubt anything will come out of.

Good to see no chicanes there too :P

I was under the understanding that no corners should be cut, just the ones with lines had a judge of fact on them, and if cut would result in epic rape. Looks like a good bash plate is the go for some epic corner cutting later in the year.

My thoughts exactly...... it's TARMAC rallying not farken WRC. Where Benson when ya need him? :P

As I said earlier - last year before all Octogon events there was specific mention of the "no cutting corners with white lines"

This year there was nothing so I can't see how he can be penalized.

It's in the Supp regs

I heard that Weeks was quitting the rally scene and going back to circuit racing??

Anyone care to elaborate?

Yeah i herd the same thing that he has lost his nerve abit, but maybe like Garwood after his smash in Targa a couple of years ago said he would never race a car again and he came back better than ever, it might just take time before he's keen again

It's in the Supp regs

Bit iffy unfortunately (for those who like to read the rules to the letter to bend them) because I don't recall seeing a bulletin?

From the regs.....

18. Cutting Corners

Any competitor who is observed taking a line that results in a complete tyre (front and / or rear) passing beyond the white line on pre-determined corners and

thus leave the tarmac surface will receive a penalty as follows:

• First Observed Offence: 30 seconds

• Any further offence will be the first offence plus 30 seconds for each subsequent offence

These locations will be advised in a bulletin.

    • Have a vb in honour of the car comming back
    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.
