brb- off to Styx Valley Rally.

ok so I know it's not Tarmac, but it should be a bit of fun.

I'm joining Timmy in Tassie this weekend for the first round of the Tasmanian Rally Series.

Jumping into a little Mitubishi Cyborg with Aaron Reader - should be lotsa of fun.

Now can you Tasmanians organise some decent weather for me please?

Congrats Mrs Handley,,,1st in class,,,Nice work indeed. :):laugh:

Neil.

yep Kell and Aaron did a grate job yesterday just to finish.

interesting to see what keel thought of the whole sit back and wait 2km for another call.

i got my first off road experience yesterday. was a nice gentel drop about 3m off the side of the road into furns. best bit was only minor damage to the car.

Damo, I'm still chuckling at the comedy routine you and Jesse put on to describe your misadventures- solid gold!

As for me, I had a brilliant weekend- definitely now keen for more of the dirty stuff.

Thanks to Timmy and Squeak for giving me some pointers beforehand.

It took a little while to get my head around not calling every corner but there's definitely enough going on through the stage to keep you on your toes. If you're in any doubt about that you just need to watch some of the in-car from the quicker cars competing.

I had a cracker of a time and as a bonus we won our class and 2WD outright- not a bad way to start my gravel rally efforts

I'll get you next time gadget! Lol!

You guys did an amazing job and were bloody quick through the spectator point where we were!

We are still really dissapointed that our 'NEW' gearbox let us down, but on the positive side it looks like it was the original selector forks have broken/bent so all is not lost, note to self if ther eis an option for billet selector forks, do it!.

I had a camera in the car (thanks to Benson Motorsport), so I might try put some later.

in the meantime... some lol action from the weekend

Pretty much the most excited ive been all year! That temperature makes me quite happy and maybe ill deliberately miss my flight and stay forever! today we had a low of 0 and a high of 11 degrees. its currently 8 degrees. :)

Also looking hella forward to getting back into black betty, with one of the most talented drivers in the country. and catching up with great friends Russ and Sarah!

Bloody hell Timmy, the crack good down there today? :P lol

It's gonna be a great time, Scrut 6:30 tomorrow night Timmy. The event is going to be a no stress good time for me (hopefully!).

I'm disappointed that its not both days running up the mountain, I see the V8 track as a little bit boring for Tim and a little too small, but oh well.

Benny, I'm in no way convinced we can!?!? That Evo has more grunt, less weight, more grip, shorter gearing than we do.

My box or his? No reason why it wouldn't last I don't think?

Russ was super keen to take the tough 32, but Mark told him he was a dickhead and he had a family! lol

Cameras, I don't think so, and fyi, I've never clutch kicked for the camera, only to try and get the laggy thing on boost :P

*** Unless Timmy says through the Stilo, "Clutch kick it you poofta, they love it!"

I hardly need to egg you on! I could go the Big John 'Now give it to er down this straight'

i mean the emo box, early model emo's arn't known for strong boxes.

Have you moved up in the world and got a stilo timmy?

Nah always had a Stilo in my current helmet, but im hoping to get a new Storm Trooper spec Stilo later this year as mine is deteriorating. Just need to make a few extra $ at work to pay for it...

Anyone in need of Insurance or financial advice? ;)

Would be cool to to a "Big John" but it needs more go for it to be worthwhile.

I'm thinking an ATTK externally gated RB30 conversion with S6 Hollinger...... ;)

and it needs to left to the last possable minate

    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
