i think the reason a lot of people dont like the rounded edges of the R33 becuase Japanese designers tried to copy europe of that time and failed personally ive become to accept the R33 design and like it

big + for the R33 is wheel arches are HUGE im running 255x17 all round and i reckon i could get 275's on

I bought the r33 because of the roundness, when lowerd and right offset they look mean as hell plus i looked at what looked modern between the r32 and r33 and the r33 won but dont get me wrong i still love all skylines

I've seen that pic - makes the R34 look so tiny there! Though I dont think the R34 is "chunky" personally I was just stating a stereotype people tend to say

Did someone say chunky? I like big butts and i cannot lie

+1 for the not a fan of 33 club

there are some very lovely examples out there of them tho, i almost even bought one after hating on em for so many years

each to there own though

Enough said about the love for the R33....i have always loved the shape of the car and always will....the GTR's are a whole different class but the R33 GTR front end looks mad IMHO.....

It should be GTR vs Gt(s)T, picking one out of each category. Id go a GTR over a single turbo anyday, especially in the R34. better seats, hotter factory kit, wider guards, better spoiler, better rims.....

The wider guards give the GTR's a much better stance, you'd be silly to choose a GT(S)T over the looks of the GTR in the same model.

thats my 200 Y.

i agree damo. i'd rather buy a stock GTR then a modded gtst. GTR's do have a better stance. I think the stock 32 GTR just looks alot better then a stock 33 GTR and 34 GTR. Would go a 32 GTR over the other 2 any day. And any GTR over a gtst, although there are some rather nice examples around that i wouldnt complain about if i owned them.

Im a 33 kid all the way most of my friends bag them but i will always love them :DI think all skylines can look ugly if modded the wrong way, but i would rather be in an ugly skyline then fully sick commo lol

yeah, good point

thats just like comparing an executive commodore to a HSV clubsport.....of coarse people will choose the gtr.

seeing as people arnt holding back bagging the 33s here, im gonna join in!

the shape of a 33 shits all over the 32!

the 32 looks like a worse version of the 31.

b ut in saying that, i see some very nice examples if 32 that look tough as!

so maybe people should stop generalising the 33 into the ''bucket of shit'' category. :D

I choose the 33 gtr over the 32 gtr after i drove both. I didnt like the 32 interior at all it felt sooo dated.

And i liked the fact the 33 was bigger and fatter. It felt and looked more aggressive in my opinion. Plus im filling the gaurd with 18x10s with 275 rubber on it.

and the 34 has never reali done it for me. The ass of it looks chopped off straight down. the designers ccouldnt think of anything so they just chopped it straight down....

But in saying all of that i love all of them!! and respect a nice looking one no matter what model.

The way i see it....

any car no matter what it is...from a s1 rx7, stanza, 120y, ke10 corolla, R31, R32, R33, R34, whatever it may be. If it Hauls arse, anyone will admit they have respect for it no matter how ugly it is. Jeremy Clarkson said it very well.....

'You know the skyline could be a rancid pork chop, But they put so much sauce on it you'd never know, Silicon has turned something flat into a rumbustious, playful double D.'

Which in other words, picture any skyline without any 4wd, twin turbos, this that n the other...you probably wouldn't even bat an eye lid at it.

i guess what im trying to say is, Looks is only skin deep.

An R33 is like having a fat missus, they are usually the best ones behind closed doors lol.

first time i ever saw a skyline it was dark and the brake lights came on and i though it was a corvette! :(

but like Adz2332 was saying about the r32's! love the shape but the inside didn't cut it for me and for the r34 gtr, they always look sexc but when ever i see a clean r33 like boostdR's one it knocks me back to r33's! just love the width of the things!

Yeah cos a new R8 clubsport would be heaps worse than an ugly skyline...

Once again R34 is the only one i'd ever own.

i see no one likes the r31's? hahaha

Heh well, I wouldn't be here if it wasnt for my old R31.... it was my first car, on LPG.... once the gearbox (auto) died I did a manual conversion on it, and after that my wallet stayed empty as I proceeded to pour money into mods haha. Lowered it, got a phat stereo, got a handmade 1:4.11 diff from Boss Engineering, Mags, did the intake. Was gonna fit a spoiler and do the zorst but I wrote it off in a freak drifting accident (and I was heartbroken)... but then I started checking out the 32, and I really liked the way the arse looked compared to the 31. I liked the s3 31 appearance, it had a nice aggressive front end but didnt really have a nice looking rear profile, and only looked ok from the side. It drove better than the Corolla, Sigma, the datto 120y, the xf ford falcon, the vn commodore, the hyundai getz and the suzuki vitara (the cars my family own that I occasionally borrow). And after a petrolhead mate told me about the legendary godzilla, I was caught, hook, line and sinker. For me at the moment I love the flared guards the most, they remind me of classic roadster/sports cars, but it was always the technology that was put into them that made me interested. The speed and the ride was a joy I was soon to discover, and tbh I can't see myself upgrading to any car cause I love working this 32 gtr too much. 5 years time I might buy a pure electric car for groceries, or a second gtr to turn into a track car >:( who knows

I got respect for the 34 more than the 33, but the 33 is a little more practical (on the basis that they have more internal space). Going from a VN Commodore which can best be described as a couch on wheels, to a GTR, I had to learn how to pack things efficiently...

-D

DRIV3R, i had my first 31 for 6 years and spend endless amounts of money on it..first one in SA with an rb25det i believe...still regret selling it to this day. Best car ever. Then i recently just bought another silhouette!

Yeah r31's are seriously underrated... they have some awesome handling and the rb30de is no slouch either. Ugly ass interior is the biggest complaint but when you're driving hard, looking out the front windscreen, that matters not :( Would be nice to have an r31 driftcar like mattys got but eh, gotta pay this one off first

    • Pressure when IDLING, is meant to be 51PSi... So that amperage value needs to go up a fair chunk... I'd personally be factoring for more like 12amp at least on those runs, and at that point you need to hope the already there wiring doesn't drop you a volt or two, as that's a lot of fuel pressure flow drop off from 13.5 to 12V! Taking idle pressure of 51psi, means the pump will be drawing a MINIMUM of 9amps all the time based on your reading of the graph (3bar base, then allowing an extra 0.5bar for boost = roughly 51psi)
    • Hi all,  I am in the market for an R200 longnose diff out of a Z31 300ZX, or S12 RSX, DR30 skyline, or similar, in a 3.9 ratio.  Preferably a late model one with the M12 crownwheel bolts.  The only easy to find advert for one of these was my ad back in 2007 when I sold it on this forum.  I sold the diff as I had sold the car it goes to, but as it turns out, after 18 years I got the car back late last year, so now I'm looking for the diff !  If anyone knows where to find a longnose R200 LSD with the M12 crownwheel bolts, drop me a line at [email protected] - Bonus paid if soomeone comes up with the original diff (stranger things have happened !).  Cheers   Ben D
    • Hi everyone, I used to post here a bit from 2004-2013, when I owned various Nissans, in particular my S12 RSX gazelle, which was sold in 2007.  As luck would have it, after an 18 year hiatus, the car found its way back to me last year, and over the past 11 months I have had the pleasure of restoring it with my kids.  One thing that I am after in particular is a 3.9 ratio R200 LSD for it.  I actually sold the one out of the car here back in 2007 , and it would be incredible if I could track down who I sold it to, so I can see how they have progressed over the years (and to be honest, to see whether I can get the diff back !).  Anyways, hi all and let me know "where are the R200 Longnose diffs all at these days ?  Cheers Ben D
    • Arms will be the same as the G35 or 350Z, but as above, there was a change in the lower control arm where it connects to the ball joint.  That said, you can remove the ball joint cone from your old ball joints and fit them to the new ball joints.  To be honest, I didn't think the ball joints themselves were different. The main ball joint is a bit awkward to replace, you really need to remove the steering knuckle to press out the old one.  Some people have used tools to remove it in place, but it just seemed too hard to get to. If you are going to press out/in that ball joint, then you may as well just replace the bushings in the LCA and the compression rod.  You can buy the compression rod bushing from Nissan, but the LCA bushes, you will need to go aftermarket. Much cheaper than buying the whole arm.
    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
