For anyone who missed it, ABC's Four Corners did a story about Firepower which created pills for your car.

These apparently improved efficiency, power blah blah

Turns out it was a massive scam and it did nothing (took them until 2006 to realise this???)

Found it surprising that a lot of people fell for it especially the government..

Anyways, Info can be found here;

http://www.abc.net.au/4corners/content/2008/s2306960.htm

And a video of the story here;

most pills you buy these days do nothing

there are so many problems with what they were claiming. only people who took notice of it was a) idiot investors who got taken in by the bs and b) the reporters. it's a shame ASIC was late in taking proper notice.

how about the scum CEO who is now claiming naivety. i have no doubt his appearance the other night was on the advice of his solicitors. i read an article a while back about him being on child sex charges.

Dans Data has linked to SAU regarding the whole Firepower thing in this thread.

Being a scientific sort, he's already debunked these fuel pill things regularly, and gotten stuck in to Firepower (to a point where the directors were insulting him via email and threatened to sue him. Typical quackery.

You can read more about Firepower here.

hey not so harsh on the old energy polarisers, many HDT owners swear they improve the car's dynamics considerably! :) (also cars fitted with em are worth a fortune!)

Don't fancy driving around with the tyres inflated to the recommended spec of 22psi though.

You'd have to be soft in the head to have ever thought that those pills had any sort of benefit, I would have thought that it would have been obvious it was a scam when nobody saved money from using them.

    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
