Hey guys, I'm Nigel, a member from Adelaide.

I'm asking for a large favour for monday (04/08/08)

Myself and a mate land at Brissy airport at 9am, and need to get to Morayfield to pick up my new beast from another member, ready to drive home to Adelaide. I would greatly appreciate a lift from a generous member if it was in any way possible. The trip will of course be rewarded with petrol money. The trip is 45kms approx, and would prefer a faster and more economical alternative to a $100 taxi for a <45 minute trip.

I also need to make my way to Queensland transport on piper street at Morayfield also, but thats only a $15 taxi from the car's location, so i have that covered.

Hoping that a member finds it in thier heart to give 2 guys a lift on thier way to work or whatever.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nigel.

cant help with the lift but i'd suggest the train

yeah i was gonna suggest the train whist reading too.. would be alot more convenient.. take train to neatest station and bus/taxi it to his house then drive to qld transport.. alternatively if your just looking to trade in the plates just drive to adelaide and trade them in there.. its do-able

i would have been willing to give you a lift but have to work

good luck with the new car :)

i figured most people would be working. Time is an issue, hence i dont wanna wait for the train. Already checked the time tables, and i'd be losing over an hour of precious travel time. Car is unregoed, so cant drive it till i get permits from qld transport, hence all the taxi's.

Hmm I'd be happy to run you around for the morning but not sure I can get the time off work ><

Surely there is someone on here who works casual work or something?

We don't have any luggage by the way, nor do we smell.... (contrary to rumours)

Easy way to make $50 for 45 minutes of someones time?

We need to hit the road to home by about 11am, so thats why i'd prefer no taxi queues or trains.

Cheers guys

Heading down the coast that day for work so can't help you out. No offence but you probably should have picked a more appropriate username before you posted this request lol :) Good luck and hope you find someone to take u there!

PM Sent..........

Thanks for your help guys! A very generous member has come forward to the rescue!

i'll post up some photos of the new whip when she's home safe after a 2100km journey.

Nigel.

did i read correctly?

track spec forester?

i didn't realise there were track spec station wagons....

unless the race includes picking up shopping, kids from rugby etc. sorta like what the v8 should do to make it more realistic....

"track spec" =

110KW NA

1290kg

racing logic coilovers.

full whiteline range

18x8's

5 degrees castor

-2.5 camber

handled like a go kart. really miss it ;) was perfect for hills runs would outrun bikes

Haha nah it's true, any decent car will out-corner a decent bike. Look at the difference in how much rubber is on the road - two contact patches the size of a 20c piece versus four big 235mmx20mm or whatever patches. A well-ridden bike can be damn hard to catch but a well driven car should be able to hold more corner speed, the only saving grace for the bike is that it can use wider lines but it takes a LOT of commitment to ride that hard.

It's fun trying though

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
