R33GOD
just bought a r33 gtr vspec series 2 and only has a catback exhaust. What would be its potential down the 1/4 the way it is now and what would the potential be with just 12psi boost, hiflow panel filter and a full exhaust average driver: ? good driver: ? i couldnt find much info regarding this Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/231402-potential-14-mile-stockish-gtr-r33-vspec/ Share on other sites
R33GTRKid
out the box GTR Nissan quoted a 13.2 I think, so you would say around a low 13. vspec slightly heavier but then you have an exhaust which should give you more torque and power (a little anyway) so that may counter the extra weight of the v-spec. Obviously this would have been with a gun jap driver. i think you could safely say with fliter and exhaust and no tune, you should hit a low to mid 13 without too much drama. Any faster and you will need to look at a tune to get things working properly and then flat 13's, high 12's would be attainable. Then add dollars to take off time, one you get to low 12's, high 11's, talk big dollars for each 10th of a second you want to shave Edited August 7, 2008 by R34kid Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/231402-potential-14-mile-stockish-gtr-r33-vspec/#findComment-4063887 Share on other sites

R33GTRKid
haha I thought I would be a little more genuine than sarcastic.... When I first read I thought exactly that, but then broke it down a little more and though take the average run of the mill etc..... if he drives like my sister, erm about a week.... or worse still will dump the clutch forget she had it in reverse and take out the car staging behind..... R33GOD
well it ended up doing a 12.62 @ 109mph. 2 psi boost over stock and dump back exhaust. so i cheated..but only a little my stock clutch died a few days later Edited January 2, 2009 by R33GOD Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/231402-potential-14-mile-stockish-gtr-r33-vspec/#findComment-4344235 Share on other sites
R33GOD
Now with larger turbos and more power my goal is a high 11 second pass on 20inch rims. How much power is required to do this? I ran a 12.9 sec pass with the 20in rims with the same mods in above post. so a .3 difference. What are your thoughts. Can this be done? And if anyone has done it would be good to know. R31Nismoid
As ive said before, you can run 11's on stock turbos in a R32 GTR So as long as your making around 280rwkw you should be in the 11's with relative ease Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/231402-potential-14-mile-stockish-gtr-r33-vspec/#findComment-4392304 Share on other sites
cmoney
The bigger rims will give you a larger rolling diameter & more weight generally, thus slowing down the time gain from extra boost. For the drag strip, use the stock rims with a GOOD set of tyres & the time will be much better, & it will put less stress on the drivetrain as a whole. Stick the 20s back on for cruising bling. rev210
he hit high 12's while everyone was saying 14 flat ??you did pretty good mate. im running mine tomorrow. so hopefully i do a 13 We say that so you aren't tempted to be a retard and actually go to the drag strip instead of walking around telling various people what your car "would run". It's a public service we offer here.
